[VIC] Free Mobile Phone Charging Service @ Target Melbourne CBD

140

Melbourne CBD Target was renovated a month or so ago. The new store is free cabinets where you can lock you mobile in a box and recharge you phone.

Previously Crown casino was the only other place i found that offered this service and they charged for it. Really good if you need some power to meet your friends.

From memory the Telstra store in Melbourne CBD (Bourke x Swanston) has this upstairs too. Right up towards the front of the store (furthermost from the escalators). You have to ask a staff member to help you put it in but once it's set up you can take it out yourself. BYO cable.

    • Can you lock your phone or do you just leave it in the open?

Sounds like u may be interested in a Powerbank

  • Also, at Starbucks you can ask for a charging cable and they give it to you. I didn't know about this, but I was at 2 different Starbucks recently and saw people asking staff for it

At Emporium you can borrow a powerbank from the information desk - I think you need to leave behind a license or similar to make sure you return it though.

    Seems like a Forum post.
Usual price is free, so no saving.
Many shopping centres I've been in have this.

  • Highpoint shopping centre had these near the cinema but they removed them

  • Cotton On store near us had this, but removed them a while back.

Cool, so now while shopping at Target they give me something that might entice me to no longer have my phone on me to do price comparisons etc..

    Damn I'm a cynical bastard..

    • Nah it's more likely that the business thinks it will attract foot traffic. You leave the phone to charge their and respond to the in store advertisements.
