Optus OPPO AX7 4G Prepaid Mobile $299 Delivered (Free C&C) @ Target

100

Came across this phone a week or so ago. Don't have one myself, but seems to review quite well.

Have been keeping an eye on the price as I would be interested in trying as an alternative to original pixel whilst waiting for a 2019 phone to inspire me.

This is the cheapest I've seen.

No details on site about being locked, but there is a comment about the 'beauty' of optus pre-paid plans and it is listed as a pre-paid mobile. That being said I would be trying to get OW to price match this. Not sure if they would get out of it because their version is unlocked…
Still I'm sure it wouldn't cost $98 to have optus unlock it..

Australia Post is selling for the same price.

Worth noting that the Oppo AX7 in Australia is a renamed Oppo A7.

Not to be confused with the higher spec Oppo A7x.

The unlocked version is dual-sim while the prepaid ones are single sim according to Optus..

  • Can these be unlocked?

  • is this good?

  • Have Optus played with the hardware so it only uses their frequencies like they do with others?

    • Yep.
      directly from Oppo website

*Disclaimer: Phone is locked to the Optus Network. Unlocking fees apply. Check with your network provider before unlocking as some networks (850mHz) are not supported on this model.

3G B5 (850mHz) and 2G are the only frequencies missing from the Optus website that's listed from Oppo.
