    Most food contamination comes from poor practices anyway.
    Not washing hands, not washing equipment between fresh veg and uncooked protein, poor refrigeration technique.

    Save the money for more Eneloops.

      I always try to use gloves when handling/seasoning meat, especially chicken. I don't really do it for hygiene reasons, rather so I don't get the smell of seasoning embedded in my skin. Garlic and Onions are the biggest culprits.

      Yeah I know it's wasteful, but I use less/no hand soap in the end, so pick your poison.

      Sometimes it's not about hygiene. I learnt my lesson the hard way when I was cutting up and cooking with hot birds-eye chilies. No matter how many times you wash your hands afterwards, you can't immediately get rid of that heat and tingling sensation - and I paid for that indiscretion when I tried to put on contact lenses an hour later…

      Now I put gloves on every time I handle chilies.

        Also those with eczema/dermatitis on their hands really appreciate being able to wear disposable gloves when handling certain foods, and to prevent the scrubbing needed of their hands to remove grease and smells.
