Sorry JB, I'm all blu-rayed out from Amazon UK. Maybe next time. :D

    • Me Too. There are also more choices available from Amazon.HK. Some foreign language ones aren't available here unfortunately.

      • thank you for the pro tip. :)

… just when I was trying to stop myself from buying more!

    Thanks melmac77
Great price for "The Incredibles" on Blu Ray disc. They have the Blu Ray stickered at $19.98, and paid just $15.98 after 20% off. Thanks for pointing this out. Was about to buy online from Amazon. Note that it is the single disc version like the UK, not the 3 disc version they are selling in the USA. Has the main movie and the extra Jack Jack movie.

    • I'm actually not as excited about it as usual as I'm pretty much blu'd out from all my amazon purchases not much left that I want to get

    • I'm assuming the dvds on the US edition won't work since it'll be a different region but the blu-ray is probably region free yeah?

    • Hmm, now to decide whether to spend the extra few dollars at Amazon.com for the second disc of extras…..

    • Thanks for that - I picked up both A Bug's Life and The Incredibles for $15.98… cheaper than importing from Amazon US/UK (granted it's only one disc, but that's all I'll watch anyways)

  • Do blur-rays work in blu-ray players?

    • Lol Thank you, now corrected could have been worse I often see it spelled blueray :D

  • I was of the impression Blur-ray and DVD were the same thing?

    Blu-Ray FTW!

blur-ray are the videos you see after Broden rushes to Toys-R-us to buy cheap PS3s

It seems that JB are having these 20% off sales more frequently lately. Probably starting to panick with rising interest rates, cheap imports and people just not buying anymore. i haven't bought a DVD from there in ages.

  • 20% of.

gee they have really cut down stock levels.

Just be careful with JB's 20% off sales. Yesterday on ozbargains an example of JB's rip offs was cited with the Godfather trilogy on bluray. Amazing, but true, JBHIFI charges $139.00 vs amazon.co.uk at $22.90. JBHIFI I can not believe the greed. With 20% off, $139 for Godfather trilogy only comes down to $111.20 vs Amazon.co.uk at $22.90 with free postage to Australia.

JB you have done it again. JB where have all the bargains gone. They went far, far away. That is why we buy from overseas. Stop the rip offs.

The bargains went with the original owners (so I have been told), who then started Hi Fi Supermarket, but failed when they went into whitegoods (which is a notoriously hard sector to master).

The names the same, that's all. Online is the new bargain center, and usually overseas based unless Harvey Normal and others go the way of BigW and get real online bargains happening. The shared back-end bulk buying of some of these companies also counteracts the real bargains popping up I think.

      Just my 2c worth.

    • You do realize JB has nothing to with the australian wholesale price? beside a bit of negotiations with the supplier for maybe a better deal, it would be the Australian distributor who is able to get it for around $20 then jacks up the price here and sells it to retailers for prob around $125-130, Then retailers add their margin. It's JB that ripping people off, or other Aus retailers for that matter.

Sorry JB, I do not accept your excuses. Enough, we know that you are ripping us off. The proof is in the price difference. We have heard you say that it is not your fault. JB it is time to take responsibility for your rip offs. Stop blaiming the other guy.

      • EDIT: Forgot a key word in the last sentance

It's NOT JB thats ripping people off, or other Aus retailers for that matter.

Big W had a better deal - 'buy 3 pay for 2' - just last week on their blu ray & dvds. So if you bought 3 items with the same retail price the total saving was 33%.

I spent my money there so none left now… Sorry JB.

Spiderman Trilogy $19.98 at the moment, so 20% off will down to $16.

    Bargain.

    • that is the DVD version though
A better bargain would have been the BD

    • Bluray version is available in store for $16, as noted 4th post from the top, stock may be getting low though as its been circulating across the interwebs all day :)

      • Surprisingly, there are plenty of stocks in my local store(Forest hill), a lot more than usual, I think it is major clearance from the publisher hence the $19.98 price cheaper than even Amazon, now with the 20% off, it is a steal for those haven't got the movie. :)

        • Yep just got back from my local plenty there too, also noticed they had X Files sets for 24.98 that means u get both movies for 19.98 not bad not as good as spidey though :)

    • oops didn't see that!

BTW I did not neg you :)

I bought it too early $19.98.
