I just popped into Coles and saw all Easter products are currently 50% off - Woops! There goes the health kick! Wish i was seeing relatives tomorrow to give them their Easter pressies. Ahh well.. too late.. full price i had to pay! lol
I presume that most shops would have 50% off their Easter products. I reckon give it a week and they'll be 75% off (whatever is left over anyway).

woolworths mona vale was 50% off all easter eggs today also-if you can get served.9 checkouts open Ive never seen so many people in the store-took about an hour to go through checkout
Same deal at Coles Dee Why and you'ld think a tornado was approaching. Peeps everywhere and queues for checkouts stretching back down the aisles.
Got enough Easter chockies now for at least 8 belly aches!

That's what I did at Aldi's last year and we still have bunnies this year. They expire in Sep 2011 but we're probably going to run out by June 2011. No problems - I still have discount chocolate Santas that will be brought into rotation at that time and get us through to Xmas 2011 (or Easter 2012 if we ration).

yeh coles would hve been open like other places, i went to woolies & big w to stock up on chocolate & it was open from 1-5pm
I remember back when I was in high school and working in BigW (same thing applies to other supermarkets and department stores), since I was on school holidays during Easter Monday I always prebought almost a trolley's worth of cheap chocolate before my shift (even got to keep leftover broken stuff!). If only I could've scored a job at Darrell Lea or Haigh's lol… I'd be a diabetic by now :P
Anyway some advice to anyone thinking of hoarding, remember that some stuff does begin to lose it's taste well before it's expiry dates, so try to avoid stuff that's going to expire within 3 months (that's crazy old stock) unless you plan on eating it super soon! :)
Honestly, don't bother trying to hoard. Just take what you like and enjoy it over the next few months. There's always a decent discount before Easter next year (Target wasn't bad on Saturday with 30% off when I went).
Yeah nowadays I just stop by darrell lea or haigh's chocs and buy one or two super 'fancy' chocolates on sale. :) My adolescent days of hoarding cheap/moderate ish chocolate are over hehe.
Yeah, it's the same every year, which is why I actively avoided Coles/Woolies today. :P
