She likes paying full price? That's crazy talk!

Jungle Suite with a Plunge Pool available

For C grade celebs only? I assume they serve up maggots, have spiders, and some sort of tribal council?

Thanks for providing - currently tossing up whether to do the Maldives one you posted (thanks) for our honeymoon in Nov. but are building a house this year as well … don't want to overextend, so this deal looks like a great compromise (first world problem when you call a villa with a butler a compromise …).

Has anyone been before? Koh Samui or Vana Belle? What is it like?

Been both to Koh Samui and The Maldives twice each; for exoticness and the over water experience - you can't beat The Maldives.

That said, Koh Samui have some very high end resorts that are similar pricing to The Maldives but just as good, if not better. Think Four Seasons, W, Ritz Carlton, Conrad Koh Samui which charge rates like The Maldives.

Food will be much better in Thailand, same with service, but The Maldives is The Maldives. Anyone can go to Thailand? ;)

To fly to Koh Samui can be just as expensive, or if not more than, heading to The Maldives. The Maldives have budget (yes, an oxymoron, for such an expensive destination) airlines such as Scoot, Air Asia, Singapore/Silk Air and a few others. Be wary of the seaplanes in the Maldives (think around $800 return for flights that are like 30minutes each way).

5 days won't be enough for any of those destinations. We plan to go back to the Maldives and spend a good 13-16 days as a minimum.

Nice post Op. Vane Belle is a good hotel and only thing with Luxury Escape is that we do not get stay & points & nights counted toward our Marriott loyalty program.
I hope Luxury Escape can do something on that as I really need the extra nights/stay with my elite status for added benefits. Eg Platinum Elite level to get free breakfast and lounge access.
