FAQ

Q. Does my item need to be listed and sold during the promotion period?

A. No, listed only. For example, if you select a 30 day listing, you will have 30 days to sell under the promotion.

Q. The promotion only applies to listings in one category. Does this mean I can only list items if they’re all in the same category?

A. No. Each individual item may only be listed in a single category. Different items may be listed in different categories, but only one category per item.

If you have never sold on eBay before, you will likely be eligible for this offer instead:

…and I’m not targeted for another month!

Remind me again why eBay Plus exists?

    • +3

Should be automatically included in stuff like this if you have ebay plus. Pretty pathetic.

    Thanks op

  • Is $1 weekends permanent now?

    • +1

It's been consistently going on for a while, so seems like it

  • Cheers OP! My decade old account was eligible

  • Ok - I am aware this is marked to "start in 2 days", and that it is a targeted promotion… Trying to work out if I'm eligible or not…

I have clicked the link to check in advance if I'm eligible, and it is saying:

"Unfortunately, you can no longer sign up for this promotional offer because it has expired.".

Does this mean my account isn't eligible, or, is it simply stating (using past tense?) the promition hasn't started yet?

    • +3

I've had the same thing previously. Worked for me only on the day it started, even though I saw others saying it was working for them in advance. Try again in 2 days and it might work.

      • +1

More specifically, this particular promo is the same URL as a previous one. So if your account hasn't been marked eligible (again) yet, then you'll get the "expired" message if you were eligible the previous time. If you weren't eligible the previous time, you'll get a message saying you're not eligible instead.

Either way, per my previous comment, you might find if your account isn't marked eligible now then it could become eligible on the day so try again at that time.

When I clicked on the link it tells me that it's been activated.
But it doesn't show up in the 'Promotional Offers' yet, probably will once it is within the active time frame.

  • How do you get to know of these ebay zero insertion fee deals HPJ? Do you just skim through your email?

    • Go to the selling overview page on ebay (My Ebay -> selling/sold tab).
Near the bottom there will be a selling promotions section which you can see what offers you have.

  • Sick of this targeted crap.

  • what are the total (ebay + paypal) final value fees around now, 20%?

    • +3

      10.9% final value fee
      2.6% + 30 cents paypal fee

      13.5% + 30 cents

The 30 cents can be a big deal, selling an item for $6.00, 30 cents is 5%.

      • Just lust on weekends. It’s been $1 weekends for like a year at least

        • +5

          I lust all week.

        • is the $1 weekends for everyone?

      • If your buyer decides they don't want the item anymore and cancels the order you are also out the 30c

I now almost exclusively list during the no fees or 75% off fees on ebay and just remove and relist every month as needed.

  • how many listings does it apply to?

    • +2

Restrictive as to what Selling Limit Ebay Has On Your Acount

    Cheers OP :)

  • +1

Thanks OP, I didn't get the email but it worked for me.

  • how do you see these promo offers on the ebay app. had a look, couldnt see any. i know on the website you can.

  • I have two selling accounts. One eBay Plus, one not. This offer only worked on the non-Plus account. So much for Plus perks! What BS.

    • +1

eBay Plus is a buyer-oriented subscription service - it provides "purchasing perks". Those criticising it because it's not giving them additional seller offers have misunderstood its purpose.

      • +1

It's meant to provide BOTH. This is from the eBay Plus page.

        Exclusive deals and offers
eBay Plus members receive exclusive buying and selling offers, such as:
        Special promotions and discount vouchers
Listing and final value fee discount offers when selling on eBay (non-Store sellers only — see full details).

eBay Plus sellers should be receiving the same or better perks than a non member. And they're not.

        • Therefore no reason to stay as plus member

You don't even get the benefit of selling

  • When I click the "Accept offer" It shows "You've already accepted the offer "$0 Insertion & Final Value Fees"" with start date 04/02/2019 12:00:00 AM
and end date 07/02/2019 11:59:59 PM
However, I haven't accepted this before and nothing shows on my selling promotion area.

  • I get this offer every single week. how is an Ozbargain deal when it is the norm on my account? I could have listed it for the last 2 years.

    • yeah, i never get this offer! maybe you can list things for me lol

  • "Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only."

    Booo!

Hopefully this will go live tomorrow again…
