Hi I just saw an add on one hd for the apple iPod 8gb for $199 valid for Easter only. I am in Sydney so I am not sure if this campaign is nationwide

    They are definitely making a loss here, the cost price for 8gb is around $214.

        3GS 8GB $719 vs this for $199, when the only diff. (i understand) is the phone feature, that's insane!

          This iPod touch has a significantly better screen than the iPhone 3GS — the retina display kicks ass. And it has front and rear cameras, too — the 3GS only has a back camera. Oh, and a faster processor (1GHz for the iPod touch versus 833 MHz for 3GS).

          The 3GS really isn't a good buy at that price.

      Why? I checked at Apple US site and iPod Touch 8GB is at US229.
      If I use .. let's say 1 AUD = 1.05 US (though now, more like 1.07), the price would be around AUD218 something.
      So, this offer from goodguys would be cheaper than getting it from US, doesn't it?

      Or, did I calculate the wrong price?

        Please add sales tax to the USA price. Most US states add sales to the selling price. The Australian price, includes the GST.

      Yup, confirmed with pricematch at OfficeWorks. Got it down to 189.05. But if you cannot get the pricematch, try to negotiate further with goodguys staff. I did get the offer of 193 at goodguys. But OW's still better.

      Also, the deal's expried on 26th april in VIC.

      I would say, just give it a try by bringing the printed ads of TheGoodGuys to OfficeWorks. Normally, they even match the online offer (most of the time - they might consider the delivery cost though).

    Just as a reference on the 32gb, GG is pricing it at $328, which is similar to OW and DSE shelf price. GG Joondalup WA did it for $320 this morning.

      confirmed. I went into HN Ballarat and without even mentioning the GG deal the woman told me they were $199. They only had a couple left so I grabbed one should be a good upgrade from my gen 1 nano:)
