Hmmm maybe read Michael Moseley's article first https://www.bbc.com/news/health-42864061
The step counter is a bit pointless, but it does other things.
In a sedentary job, the alerts that you've been idle too long are good.
Phone notifications.Even has a heart-rate monitor, but you probably want something with a decent display to use that.
Thanks for the article. I skimmed through it and have this summary;
a) 10,000 steps a day originates from a 1960's advertising campaign in Japan.
b) Active 10 is better than 10,000 steps because it's easier to achieve and provides "similar, perhaps greater" benefits.
c) Active 10 is about about doing 10 minutes of brisk walking (i.e. getting your heart rate up) three times a day.From the article, I'm surprised the slim Japanese only average 4,000 steps a day, even on my most slovenly days I do more, and I'm a desk jockey.
Just picked up one from JB, their price has been updated to $88.
Also same price in officeworks
