    Get this if you need a good phone in this price range. You won't be able to find a device as good as this for $200 (though you can get the Huawei X5 for $300)

    The post says it has the latest Android 2.1 Eclair. Eclair isn't the latest version.

    Acer have official Froyo roms for download for this.
    There's also a few third party Gingerbread roms too. I've got the standard Liquid running Gingerbread. Runs great.

    an android phone with capacitive lcd for <$200 is not bad, no phone is perfect, they all have some compromise or limitation, you have to decide if it's a deal breaker or you can live with it…

    YOU CANNOT UPGRADE THIS PHONE TO FROYO 2.2 !!! it matters since 2.2 adds usb tethering and wifi hot spots..
    this phone has 256mb RAM and 512 Rom.. go to acers website hover mouse over 2.2 update it says the update only works on phones with 512 RAM !!

        yeah it's got a 1GHz snapdragon, that is somewhat true but it's underclocked to 768MHz to save battery which I have read isn't great(just like many other androids).

      Incorrect. This isn't the liquid, this is the liquid e. which has 512mb ram/rom.
      Both liquid and liquie e have official froyo roms. (Look on the Acer site)
      And third party ginger bread roms.

    I got this just before 12pm. I'm surprised this one only got 13 positive, considering the last deal for this phone at $267, posted on 12/03/11 got 42 positive.

    Anyone know if this one can tether?
