TRYAUSSIELENT

Long time Ozbargainer, first time poster, please go easy.

For anyone hardcore enough to live off powder permanently, looking for camping food, or like me having a tendency to get hungry between lunch and dinner, here a quite rare opportunity to reduce cost ever so slightly. Effectively removes shipping costs on buying a 7 day / 28 meal box of e.g. chocolate powder.

Happy long weekending all.

This is spam not a bargain

Don't knock it til you try it. Not for the gourmets amongst us, but good for those that sometimes prefer substance over style.

      • huh

Sounds like some marketing person, the way he types. Very sus.

@Jasonissm: Actually, I'm an electrical engineer. But I'll gladly take the compliment.

          • @Jasonissm: Yeah. Account history is really weird, too. Joined 3 years ago, but no visible activity at all until now.

    What ??????????????

90% of it is oats and soy.

    $30/kg seems pretty pricey considering.

Aussielent have never been competitive for pricing.

Importing Joylent (now called Jimmy Joy) from the Netherlands is actually cheaper despite postage.

      More flavours and tastier too.

I've been importing it for several years on and off.

Really? Their shipping costs are astronomical. €65 for 0-10kg.€200 for 20-40kg.

      • +1

I don't see how this is possibly any cheaper. Look at shipping costs.

You'd be better off on medically formulated stuff that's scientifically and medically proven like OptiFast or OptiSlim honestly. Its cheaper too.

      Those are weight loss products.

While the VLCD ones can be used for weight loss, there are other versions that can also be used as meal replacements if you just want to replace a meal or want something to fill you up and give you all the vitamins, minerals, etc that you need to survive.

Not a bargain, barely a discount.
Also this stuff has massive maltodextrin content, which is not good despite the positive marketing spin they try to put on it.
Calorie content is a little high for a meal replacement imo, and the powders taste like nothing.
    Also expensive.
Still, not a terrible product. Likely a fuller meal than supermarket offerings.

Not a great bargain, but I'll vouch for a great product.

  • Which one is human?

  • I've been having these for about 3 years now, it's great breakfast for those who don't want the cost and hassle, or just don't want sensory overwhelming in the mornings. The nutrition isn't perfect, but it's definitely much better than alternative cheap and easy breakfasts like bread slices or up'n'go. Helps fill in micronutrients that most of us lack unless we specifically plan around them. Mix with psylium husks for more satiated feeling, and/or protein powder if/when you're working out.

Wouldn't recommend it to replace lunch/dinner unless in a pinch.

I usually order 4 cartons at once for some discount/free shipping, which lasts for about 6 months of breakfasts.

Spoke to a nutritionist after trying this stuff. I was told to avoid it.
