Bought the 50" TV just before Xmas for $389 delivered + 7x Qantas points
How do you find it?
It was a special price just before Christmas - not sure if they are repeating it again or will ever repeat it. Only commenting to suggest there are better deals out there if you're willing to wait for one.
There is a Samsung deal here that looks decent: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/434130
Nevertheless this is still a good deal as shipping can cost ~$50 even for metro areas.
He probably just looks around the room.
Are their tuners still slow as hell to change channels, and is the TV still super slow to start up? I thought I was saving money buying one a year ago, but it drives me nuts, takes almost over a minute to turn on and load a channel. Then if you want to change channel it takes a good 5-10 seconds to change. The smart TV side is terrible, I had to buy a chromecast to make the TV usable. That and the terrible picture with backlight bleed and blue tint I can't get rid of.
I have a Kogan dumb TV and the interface is quick and responsive. Wouldn't recommend their Smart TVs
have smart tv version and definitely slow to boot up. However never used it for actually watching tv so not sure about changing channels. Use it for xbox and streaming through both apple tv and chromecast
Unless they are using new speakers on tv, my ones were terrible. Had to go out and get a soundbar so maybe factor a soundbar into your costs too unless you have one ready to use
The remote is shit too but had a universal remote anyway.
They are really the only downsides to the tv that I find. For the price I got it though, I really can't complain.
I can't stand the backlighting on a dark screen, some of the worst I have seen.
I thought the same thing with mine. Terrible backlighting and terrible speakers (but I had a Sony HT-RT3 5.1 System so that didn't bother me.)
I considered complaining about the TV's (50 Inch JU8100) backlighting but then I realised I only paid $389 for it (including shipping) and thought what the heck.
I bought one off them a few years back. Had terrible light bleed. Managed to get my money back. Got a 4K one off them last year, and I'm quite pleased with the quality for that price.
I have the curved 55" 4k and its great. Takes about 15-20 seconds to load up, other than that. Picture quality is great and stock speakers are very good
Jacked up the price of the TV I was looking at by $300 :(
