Hopefully other brands will slash their 2018 model stock.
went to browse on ozbargain for the amazon tissue paper bargain i saw yesterday, ended up with a new television today…
Yep, you have to be careful around here.
Just got relisted with $40 shipping to Melbourne, just ordered
edit appears to have changed again, back to $90 shipping to Melbourne
Got mine yesterday from the good guys (needed one asap, happy to pay the extra $50). A vertical line showed up after a short time and is now always there for about 10 mins until the TV warms up. Its not a huge issue, I know they will replace it if i take it back in. However would it be too greedy to keep it until the new models come out and see if they will replace it with one of them? Or could that cause them to send the current one in to be repaired?
Possibly the worst idea of the year thus far. They will repair your current TV (as it will not considered DOA). I’d be getting it replaced now.
thanks, thought that may be the case, not familiar with returning electrical items.
The Good Guys are pretty good & will replace a DOA item … but, given how loose consumer law is around goods that develop a fault down the rack, they have the option to get it repaired OR they have the discretion to replace it. In your case, I’d strongly recommend getting a proper working TV now, given you gave them your hard earned $$$. Plus, the advances in tech each year (particularly with base models) in minimal. There is no clear advantage with this TV over last year’s base Samsung TV (MU6100).
Call Samsung service directly. A technician will visit to inspect the TV after having some troubleshooting time with Philippine call centre. Obviously if a defect is confirmed, they will ask you what you want 1. Replace 2. Fix 3. Upgrade paying extra 4. Money back - Samsung is the E. company that give us a money back(have experienced two times - this is the main reason why I have had Samsung TVs. Samsung TV service is brillant.
Got a call from Appliances Central. Delivery is set for today. It's quick but again they are only 10min from my place.
Got mine delivered just now
TVs back on stock again - new link https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/UA55NU7100WXXY-Samsung-55-inch-S…
Same price - $652 + delivery
Now $649.60 + Delivery.
So this is the best 2019 budget tv in the market?
At this price probably best value TV out there, provided HDR and brightness are not important to you. Also it is a 2018 model, not 2019.
This ain't a direct lit led right? So is Sony 55 X70F better model over this? Can shed some light please?
I just compared both models physically side by side in nearest costco. Answer to your question is Yes. Massive visual difference when you compare however I believe let alone you may not notice weeks later. Also don’t forget the price difference
That's what I thought. Thank you.
Tempted to buy one simply because everyone else is lol
True Ozbargainer. See high upvotes and positive comments, tempted to buy even if not needed or know what it is.
1 year ago i got a similar tv, the 6100series. The screen had dark areas/lines vertically and horizontally. 5cm from the edges and lime thickness was 10cm. This happened straight out of the box, and was quite visible when viewing bright images. My mistake is that imstead of taking the tv to the good guys, i thought contacting samsung would be better. Their support is horrendous. So they say replacement cant be done only repair, send out the repair man changes the screen, similar issue… after many emails the good guys offered a refund which i gladly accepted( should've contacted them in the first place) My point is that Samsung low end series screens are no good in my experience and you dont want to deal with samsung warranty, it's terrible. I promissed myself next tv is any other brand but not Samsung. Not sure if others share a similar experience or mine is am isolated one.
No issues with my NU7100 and the F8500 plasma is still my favourite viewing screen to date (excl. OLED). Can't comment on warranty except that going though the store of purchase is wise.
I have a 55 inch Panasonic plasma. would this be an upgrade?
If i had to guess, i reckon your plasma will have better black and colour but not sharpness
Very doubtful. If you do buy this I'll be willing to buy your plasma. :)
6640 clicks and only 36 sold…. awwws
Click in and you'll see that's been since 1PM or so, so clearly refreshing when it's been out of stock or an element changed, comrade
235 sold since the deal was posted
According to reviews:
1. Wifi not stable - you get drop outs.
2. Wifi does not support 5ghz connection so will be slower for streaming 4k content.
3. Does not support AVI movies.
4. No Personal Video Recorder (PVR).
5. Mixed reviews on sound quality.
Goodluck!
Hopefully the unstable wifi is a software issue and may be fixed if there are software patches in the future?
Unfortunately not. This is an EOL product now with buggy software they haven't bothered to fix.
any work arounds? I.e. is getting a chromecast an option?
Thanks OP. Got one. That is a great price!
Got one, used the 15% off PayPal gift cards I got from eBay uk a few weeks ago. Great price!
I've ordered two to Melbourne, delivery was $70… Amazing value. Thanks very much OP
