[NSW] Car Green Slip Refunds via Service NSW

30

The NSW Government is reforming the CTP Green Slip scheme and is making premiums cheaper for most vehicles from December 2017, so if you purchase or renew your Green Slip before 1 December you would have paid pre-reform prices. Those people will be entitled to a refund on their premium. It will be calculated on a pro-rata basis so the closer you purchase a policy to 1 December, the greater your refund will be.

Free to call on 13 77 88 (Mon-Fri) 7am-7pm. CTP Refunds have started. Please visit the main link to lodge your claim. You will be required to enter your bank account (BSB + Account) number.

Note refunds don't apply to motorbikes - instead, injured motorcycle riders will get more benefits and their prices won’t increase.

How do I check if my refund went through?

    • You should get a receipt if you put your email. If you are not sure, just give them a call with your REGO & reference number.

  • Is this the same refund as last year?

Seems like it. I logged in, was told I have already claimed.

      • Same here, it has "Claim CTP" button on my dashboard, and get error:
It looks like the CTP refund has already been claimed. Need help? Visit Contact us to get in touch.

This is for green slips paid before 1 December 2017.

And why they charge $10 for admin or processing fees?

Shouldn’t be easy to automate refunds to owner as most of owner don’t charge car that frequently

You are starting to get the hint that NSW government is trying to get as much money from people with fees and charges. Did you know Sydney is one of the most heavily tolled places in the world?

      • After paying

        Tax
        GST
        Extra tax on Petrol
        Rego
        Toll

And no refund is amount is < $10

    • There is no fee to process claim.

      • Would refund made if amount is <$10?

  • Late in 2018 there was $50,000,000 still unclaimed. Seems a lot do not know about this?

    • That is correct. Hopefully, they will all be able to claim before the 30th of June 2019.

  • Best way to verify is to call on 13 77 88.
You may have more than one refund that you could claim. The customer service representative will be able to confirm.

  • This seems like per-election advertising to me
