  • Does everyone use frozen duck to make Peking duck?

    • Some chefs use frozen duck for Chinese roast duck as you can get a light crispy skin that separates of the meat really easily compared to using fresh duck.

Just finished one duck with taro tonight.

Cut duck and taro in pieces, place them in cast iron pot with half dl water, add 2 table spoons of vodka/alcohol of choice, a bit of salt, sugar and soy sauce. Let it simmer ~30mins or until done (once taro is soft).

Here is one more good recipe with taro:

  • Ducks goes on sale when it is closer to Chinese New Year.

  • Braised Taro duck, the taro absorb the duck fat. Very fatty. Not my cup of tea. I only roast my duck to get rid of as much fat as possible from the duck skin.

  • Quacking deal

I have to ask did they purposely make the green background behind the duck look like pepe to go with their name? because seriously the thumbnail is a good likeness of him/it.
