Pretty horrid company. Non-existent customer support. Not worth the discount.

Just got a 6 person ola for $2.70 compared to $57 uber. Terrible company…….

      • sorry my reply below was for you.

  • Do they do pool services?

  • I don't know sorry. I can't see anything.

Also guys don't forget to refer people, both yourself and the person get $20 if they book a ride, they get their first ride $20 off. We have given out so many that we have not once paid more than $10 for rides that would cost us well over $50 with uber.

    • My referral code stopped working for some reason, neither the person recieving nor do I get the $20 off.

      • Did they enter it at the final step of booking the ride?

        • Says code is invalid I think, it's where you put promo codes right?

          • @Jasonissm: Yep right at the end. I haven't had any issues and I've shared 5 times so far.

I normally don't like to negatively post regarding any deal but Ola is probably the worst ride-sharing company I have come across. They are known to double charge or charge extra without consent. Their customer service is like sending an email into deep space and waiting for the leaves to drop. Had to ask my credit card company to chargeback to get my money back.

Ola so far has been a double edged sword for me. So i totally agree with neggers, - the service is quite bad, drivers show up or not or want to pick up in a wrong spot.

But at the same time i have had my best ever rides with Ola too. Once we got a ride with Tesla Model X (and got 20% off the ride, which made it cheaper than a trainride home).
And then there was this guy, who was so positive and funny, that we laughed to our tears the whole 20min ride.

Im guessing Ola's requirements or fees for the drivers must be lower/different compared to the other ride share companies. That allows different people to try out being a driver.
The bad drivers will eventually be negged out of the game in the app and the good ones will stay.

  • Good luck getting your money back if this hopeless mob overcharge you

Apart from drivers not showing up or picking wrong routes to reach you (causing delays), I have had positive experiences (sharing below). I did have to cancel rides few times due to app showing shorter time and driver taking long time (I was never charged for canceling ride due to this).
Now this code 30SYD did not work for me in Sydney so it looks to be targeted (I did not get the email).

Ola Positives that I have personally experienced-
    - Discount codes - I was able to apply discount code to many of my rides. Without discount code, Ola seems little expensive than Uber
    - Cheaper rides to/from airport. Have got airport fares for almost half the cost of Uber for Brisbane and Sydney (for example today morning Uber was showing $46 to SYD airport and it came to $23 in Ola - pretty good for family considering the exorbitant airport train charges)
    - I remember atleast 2 instances where Ola code did not apply in final bill. A simple email to customer care got me full refund (and not just the 30% refund) for both these rides in few hours time. But this also tells me that I have to always take a screenshot while booking ride with discount code applied or save the email that I received (in both cases I had forwarded the email to customer care and booking reference number).

Having said that, most of the drivers I have encountered do both Ola and Uber so I think it's Uber software that makes it reliable.
