  Is this really worth getting? i already have TV tuner on my PC but it is playing up and losing signal for some reason..

    it'll certainly be better than something that's not working.
    now if you compare it to some 4 tuner PVRs out there, of course it wont be as good.
    saying that, i've been using playtv everyday for more than a year and i'm very happy.

  PlayTV works great if you have a Sony Bravia TV as the TV's remote can be used to do action alot of things on the PS3 and PlayTV as well. However this is a great deal. Last year I paid about $120 just for PlayTV alone, and that was on special down from $150 or so.

  You can get PlayTV much cheaper. Ppl were getting it for $50 delivered at one point.

  And there is no difference between UK and Aus version except waiting times and updating the firmware in some regional areas

    These are even cheaper than the displayed price because the VAT is removed.
    They work well with MythTV for a great home-built PVR

    I purchased the $50 playTV from dvd.co.uk and got it in just over a week. Put the CD in, it did the install, then an update and works perfect.
    You can buy official ps3 blu ray remotes for $25.45 from http://www.planetaxel.com/productDetails/711719804604 and under $30 from other online stores.
    If you wait about 2 weeks you'd have this 'bundle' for about $75!

    I can vouch for this. I bought PlayTV last time the deal from dvd.co.uk was posted up here: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/32330
    Been using it since and works fine. Only thing is I would like to get a remote, because using the PS3 controller with PlayTV is a bit annoying.
    Also just found this:

    Except, both previous bargains are out of stock. But just keep that in mind. If you buy it standalone from those websites and then buy the remote separately, it is cheaper than this bundle (as brendun said).

    edit: Oh, just found this but it's not genuine.

  I am selling my 3months old PlayTV for $60. I already have HTPC, so I don't really need it. Only tried it few times to see how it works. It is still new in the box as I got it as a gift. Sydney Pickup only.

  Play tv2 if an improvement for UK users because of their HD channels and something something which I can't explain lol. In Australia playtv 2 will be just an update that can be done online which will allow social networking stuff and possibly series recording.
  Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I've only read these things online :s
