$10 for 10GB is advertised on Amaysim's own site and lasts until the 31st of January.

$30 cashback is from ShopBack and only for 3 days.

  • Cashback is only valid on new services and for new sign ups/customers (SIM)
  • If however the service (SIM) is not activated within 30 days of purchase, the sale will be deemed cancelled and cashback will not be awarded.

Bear in mind Amaysim ships their SIMs activated, so even though you paid for 28 days, you'll likely get closer to 25 days of real use out of it (even less if you order late in the working week and have to wait over the weekend).

Auto-renew is on by default, make sure to turn it off at https://accounts.amaysim.com.au/identity/login.

          Recommend cancelling and retrying your purchase - a few above have mentioned success after doing so.

            • I used a fresh browser with no plugins (no other cookies or anything)
            • Visited Shopback.com.au
            • Clicked the referral
            • Signed up as a new customer
            • Paid and received an order confirmation for the correct plan from Amaysim

            But Shopback still didn't track it correctly.

            I'm more surprised that the official response is to go through an order cancellation and try it all over again. I would have expected Shopback to be guaranteeing it.

            • @render: Yes we understand. It is entirely up to you if you wanted to submit a claim, though admittedly it will take a little longer for us to investigate than it is to repurchase.

  • Just bought one for porting in my number to amaysim. it took 17 minutes for purchase to get tracked after I made the payment.

  • I can't find the option to cancel Auto-renew. Anyone able to tell me how to do it?

    • Your sim needs to be activated first. Then there will be an option to Manage Plan under the tab and then a hyperlink on Auto-renew to turn it off. I think it can also be done on the summary page.

    Thanks. The purchase tracked and shopback sent and email 16 minutes later. A free $20 is pretty good. Even if you consider it an investment of $10 then that's a 200% rate of return in 3 months.

    Cashback companies have always worked for me, some faster and some slower. I just make sure to use a fresh browser and then complete the transaction in one go. It seems like even switching tabs can stop the purchase from tracking.

      If not, we would suggest waiting 2 more days and then forwarding your invoice to [email protected] for investigation.

      We would have suggested you to ping amaysim for an order cancellation and for you to order again with a different email address, but the offer is ending in just over an hour so it's probably not practical to do so.

      • Rep I'm in the same boat, did the amaysim purchase on the 4th but didn't track. bought catchconnect yesterday, tracked… on the same browser same settings… weired. will wait for 1 more day then ask your helpdesk to check. cheers.

    Do not recommend. Apparently they will get back to me "in no longer than 75 days" about my missing transaction. 75 DAYS.

  • I have received my sim and appear to have activated it successfully. I've now disabled the auto-renew payment. Do I need to verify my email? My temporary email address doesn't appear to have forwarded the verification email for some reason.

  • Having difficulty logging in to Amaysim to turn off auto renew. As i paid through PayPal is it possible to cancel through there instead?

    • Settings > Payments > Manage automatic payments.

  • Can’t get into Amaysim personal login at all to do that.

    • Those instructions are for PayPal. You should be able to remove the automatic payment permission.

  • When do I need to activate the SIM to get the cashback?

  • I activated the SIM from this deal today and it is valid till 9 FEB. I think Amaysim has changed to start counting 28 days from the day you actually activate it, not shipped activated (or only applies to Groupon voucher).

    Interesting. When I signed up it said I could activate it online or wait until it arrived. I chose to wait. The sim took ages to arrive, but eventually turned up last week. I went to activate it then, and it was already activated, and is stating that it will expire on 31st Jan. So for me, it was actually activated before it arrived and I now have 18 days to use it. My guess is they activate it as soon as they confirm your details - I provided my drivers license info on signing up so I guess that must have been it. So for future deals I'd recommend signing up but not providing drivers license etc info until you are ready to activate and use the service.

    • Agree. I think one should provide ID only after receiving the SIM because a mail might get losted (or stolen).

      • Yes, although I also think Amaysim should not send an activated sim in the post. Credit card companies don't for a very good reason.

    I’ve just been charged $30 for another month with amaysim. After I’d previously turned off auto renewal.
    I’d advise others to double check, they also haven’t been charged.
    Not happy.

    • Maybe due to 28 days reset when you actually start using.
