Panasonic-DC-LX100-II-Lumix-Digital-Camera-MK-2-AU

Version 2 of the popular LX100 V1

Was hanging out for this camera with a beautiful leica zoom lens

Down to $1,028.68 was hoping for below $1k and would have worked with shopback but unfortunately ebay pulled the plug on shopback and cashrewards, would be good if anyone has the insider info on this.

No built in flash is a dealbreaker.

no way…add a flash on the hotshoe and you're good.

Nope, needs to be built in like the previous models

no, no way, nope do we have to start off all negative???

            @thelastnoob: It’s useless without a fill-in flash

        • +1

The version 1 of this didn't have an in-built flash either. It's such a well performing low light camera that I can't recall the last time I used the flash.

In bright daylight as a fill-in flash… They're not much good at night.

The previous version came with a external flash and no internal flash.

The closest camera to this with an inbuilt flash would be the Sony RX100 Mk(2-4), but they don't have a hotshoe.

It's a minor compromise on both cameras I think and one that is understandable, there really isn't much room for them in both cameras.

            It's a minor compromise

Not for me… I had the lx3 and lx7 and used the flash often… Not upgrading to this.. Too much of a hassle carrying an external flash for a pocket camera.

@jv: Not saying it's a compromise everyone is willing to make.

I mean the lack of B28 on Chinese phones is understandable and minor since they don't use it but I would make me very hesitant to get one because of it.

The LX100-MK2 also isn't a good replacement for the LX3 or LX7 though because of the shorter range?

        • Jv - "Nope, needs to be built in like the previous models"

The previous model is the lx 100 and it DID NOT have a built in flash either, the lx100 II does come with a mini hotshoe flash though, just like the previous model did…

  • Unfortunately I think this and the sony rx100 Mark VA are going to be the end of the compact enthusiast cameras. And these two are only mild updates and still way overpriced considering how old these models really are.

  • anyone actually bought it or owns it?
