$100 Creative Kids Rebate for School Aged Kids on "Creative" Activities (NSW)

1790

Following on from my Active Kids deal last year, the NSW Government are introducing Creative Kids as well (can use both deals in 2019 onwards). Works the same as active kids - you apply for a voucher and use it on a "creative kids" program. Conditions:

  • valid for student aged 4.5 to 18 years old enrolled in school
  • voucher may be used with a registered activity provider for registration, participation and membership costs for creative arts, speech, drama, dance, digital design, coding, and music lessons and activities
  • voucher can be used at any time during the calendar year it was issued

Lots of activities are included (too many to list here - check out the website in the link). Includes art related things, coding, game design, radio, fashion design, public speaking, languages, music, drama, singing, synchronised swimming, parkour, theatre, dance, etc

The "activity" has certain conditions which you can checkout on the website, but basically, if the provider is listed on the website, you can use the voucher there. Suspect like with the active kids it will take a little while for providers to sign up - you have all year to use the voucher, so no rush.

Cheers OP. I can finally be a true Asian and make my kids learn piano.

    • +13

You are only a true Asian if u FORCE ur kids to learn piano.

      • +1

Hence the term "make my kids learn piano"…

        • Not only force, you need to yell at them if they get a wrong keystroke. lol

Source: I used to hear my neighbour do that…

    • +2

True Asians chain a piano to their kids and make them drag it around.

A Violin is cheaper if you wanna go full Ozbargain Asian

Shit like this is why about 50% of Australians pay zero net tax. Taking more in benefits than what their tax actually contributes to society. This endless quest of buying votes isn’t sustainable.

yeah…shitty scheme… I couldn't use this year ones.. whereever I want to use they don't apply. Can't enrol to unwanted things costing heaps just to claim these 100 bucks back

    • The only place I found I could use the active kids vocuher was at the council swimming school (run by belgravia leisure). Their lessons are twice as expensive as a private swim school at the same pool, once you factor in the class sizes and strict attendance policy.

$100 doesn't go be very far for most classes anyway.

Can my kid use this for my Adobe creative cloud subscription?

Funny how every after school kids program suddenly became $100/yr dearer.

I didn’t t experience this with our kids sport things.
Having an idea of the income level the kids music teachers make, I wouldn’t begrudge it.

      • I don't begrudge the teachers anything. But this won't go into music teachers' pockets. Just business owners. Certainly not always the same person.

      • Same here mskeggs. I used the vouchers for soccer rego and cricket blast. The cost of cricket was cheaper this year than under the old milo in2cricket program.

    • Just a coincidence my friend :^)
Rising living costs blah blah inflation blah blah.
      Yup.
Totally not related to the government initative that will give away tax dollars to private companies!

  • If you forgot to do one for 2018 is it possible to cash in on the 2018 now and use the 2019 next year? A parent from school the other day said she is doing just that.

Oh wait, since you can apply NOW then yes the answer must be yes. Get in now guys, valid until DEC 31 if you register with the place of choice this week, then use the 2019 one, 2 terms free in 2019.

From 1 January 2019, parents, guardians and carers can apply for a voucher with a value of up to $100 per calendar year for each student aged 4.5 to 18 years old enrolled in school.

      Nice try

      • "The voucher is valid until 31 December 2018"

        You're welcome

        • I was both right and wrong.

What I said above does apply (for ACTIVE kids), which this deal isn't (my bad). For those who never got ACTIVE Kids voucher in 2018, you can still get it for 2018 and if you can register it with a business in the next 2 days for 2019 you'll be able to back it up with another $100 voucher in 2019 back-to-back.

But alas, I can't read and this deal is CREATIVE kids, another deal altogether which is great news for our little ones.

I wish they had this in WA????

    • Maybe in WA the youth are healthier and don't need exercise as badly as ours do :)
