      Really helpful comment ;)
Tell us more about why you say 'no'

      • Do you really need it explained to you…

Fair enough, I guess this deal may look good on face value, but also may be a dud.

EB are good with returns/change of mind though… and certain combos of the listed games would probably work out similar to best internet prices with this peace of mind.

        • -2

It doesn't even look good on face value. It would if it wasn't EB, but it is.

      • Because you can get all those games elsewhere at an even lower cost?

Assassins Creed Brotherhood - $108 GET Dead Rising 2 Free!

        Wow Bargain!

        NOT!!!!

Get both the same games from Ozgameshop for $70 delivered.

NOTE: This is an example. I don't care if i got the calculations wrong.

        • . meh… Im going to go have a look at lunch time and see if its worth worring about buying something.

If not, then my bad, sorry for posting!

      • Because EB never reduce their prices from original RRP. If a game comes out a year ago at $99 RRP and everywhere else is now selling it for $45, instead of just reducing their price, they'll keep it at $99 and have a 50% off "sale" and still manage to shaft you in the process.

Its actually Buy 2 games for our selected limited range and get the cheaper one free.

  • +1

I wonder what the standard price is on these then?

It wouldnt surprise me if EB said Red Dead Redemption was a $99.95 game.

Then you have others such as Brutal Legend, which is normally on sale for $20.

This could be a great deal, or it could be an absolute dud..

  • Can't really call this a deal until we know what they are charging for the 2-4-1 games are in the first place

Judging from typical EB Games "deals" - it's gonna be crap

  • Terrible deal…waffles

  • +1

Finally thought I had got a deal in before someone else did, and it turns out to be the worst deal of the day… Great!

Should I request deletion from the mods??

    Carry on….. :)

    • +3

nah, if there's enough neg votes, the deal goes under anyway…

nice try though, bad luck with the EB thing, as EB is generally seen as a bad company.

And don't let the haters get to you!

If you had to buy a game for the weekend for some reason, ordering a cheap one from overseas that takes 2 weeks to get here won't do you any good either.

(and don't forget the casing might be crushed, discs scratched, and not tradeable because it's a non AUS game)

      • Over the past year we've purchased somewhere between 50 and 100 games online. Never have we had an issue with crushed casing or scratched discs. We have, however, saved enough money to go on a nice weekend away interstate.

  • ergh…. eb conning more clueless parents into buying old games for too much…

    • +1

+1 I really think they hate it when I go in there, actually knowing the value of games and what is good and bad.

It looks like GAME is going the same way. Used to be able to chat to the guys at the counter as a fellow "gamer" but now they just want to talk about their deals and don't want to discuss price matching etc at all.

Fair enough I guess. They have to run a business and we here on OzBargain don't really help them much.

Sorry GreyDan -ve for me on this one too.

      • Yeah from the responses there is a lot of hate for EB on here! I did not realise, and am usually happy to just buy the odd game from EB.
If anything, this post has opened my eyes to the competition, and maybe others that didnt realise have been helped too.

If I was buying 50 to 100 games per year, I suppose I would have done a bit more research and know a bit more about it ;)

  • +1

I actually think it is a good deal, you can't really judge unless you go look.
I know EB are usually horrible pricing.

I got Bioshock 2 and Halo 3 ODST yesterday, both for $48.
So, $24 each. In my opinion that's pretty good, even compared to online pricing.

    • +1

Bioshock 2 has been hovering around that mid twenties price for months now and Halo ODST isn't worth $5 IMO

Well actually maybe firefight was quite decent but the campaign itself was poop and the multiplayer was ripped straight outta 2008 (Halo 3)

  • +1

Well, despite being a terrible deal for all you online bargain moguls, I still managed to use this yesterday when I picked up Epic Mickey + Lego Star Wars Complete Saga for $68, but I had a $20 Westfield gift voucher + traded in my DSE deal pre-order copy of Rayman 3D ($26) - couldn't even give that bastard of a game away on eBay, and the cheapskates on the forums weren't prepared to pay much more…

So yeah, I got something out of it :-)

  • The most important thing to know if something is a bargain or not is the price that they are selling something for - something which this 'deal' does not have. WTF?
