LG G7 ThinQ 4GB 64GB Black $629.99 Delivered @ eVisionShop ($598.49 Officeworks Price Beat)

170

Cheapest so far?? under $600!!
Just came off the phone with officeworks, they've managed to beat the price. Edit. Received order confirmation
This phone is available online only I've asked for pick up in store
Good luck! do it quick before they block the site lol

ps. The evision search is pretty bad, it just won't show the correct phone on the first result. I asked them to search the model number "G710EMW" and still took the lady sometime to find the phone

  • Shiet that's a pretty good price for this.

I'm a bit 50/50 on getting another LG after my G6 though, battery life is pretty bad after maybe a year of use (replaced battery and factory reset) and slow software updates.

    • My Xperia XZP been giving me so much hardware issues after just 15mths. It's going to be sent out for it's 2nd repair
had enough with that I'm gonna sell the Sony after it's repaired or replaced.

Wanted a phone with headphone jack and expandable memory but no bixby and not chinese owned (Think whatever you want) doesn't leave me many choices

      • what's up with your xzp? Had mine for about 15 months too. Rocking pie atm.

        • Some kind of hardware connection problems.
Bottom speaker doesn't work unless you slightly twist the phone.
Fingerprint sensor has the same problem.
Iust have twisted the phone too much (to get it working) now the power button also stopped working
Camera button wakes up app but won't take photo
          Volume rocks works intermittently

The first time it was sent for repair had all the similar problems, except the power button but had a bright spot on screen.

It is being sent out for 2nd repair this time via Virgin mobile (where I got the phone from) and hope I'll get a replacement

@Leedian: Dman that's a lot of issues. Hope they give you a new one, then you can sell it BNIB.

Mine is still good (fingers crossed). And pie has been amazing for battery life.

Yeah for sure, the hardware is fairly solid and it's super feature rich. For the price I would say it's not a bad option at all.
The software was really the only thing that had me a bit iffy, I wonder when It's getting android 9

      • The not chinese part makes it hard.

        Otherwise id have said motorola.

        • I owned 2 versions of Moto X until they got sold and changed to the current moto z design….

          • @Leedian: Are they what made you create your 'not chinese owned' rule?

            Moto = Lenovo

            • @MasterScythe: no I just rather give my data to other countries than China

              • @Leedian: Interesting thought. Didn’t mom told you that your id and data are your privacy. No rather nor but. If so, you have authorised NSA to dig out all your info and sell it to someone else. Besides is there any solid proof that only China is collecting your data. No government is safe and trustworthy. So you think US is the angel and China is the evil. Don’t let the government brainwash you.

              • @Leedian: Ah.

I've always taken the opposite approach.
I have 'nothing to hide' and just dislike metadata on principal; but for me, I'd prefer to give all my data to China, who have little to no influence over me.

@MasterScythe: Being a person that was born in Hong Kong when it was still under British colony. Then saw the Chinese took over and promised "One Nation, Two System" that they never intended to keep. Over the years they're trying to infrustrate and destroy our culture and language (we speak Cantonese) by increasing Chinese migrants to Hong Kong and made policy to forces schools to teach only Mandarin. And there are a lot of different cases that made me think different to the Chinese government.
Again thus is just my own opinion, the US maybe as bad but I'd rather keep away from the known bad

Edit. BTW in China I probably wouldn't be allowed to say something like this without being censored or, in the worst case, be taken away without needing to go through any justice system.

    • G7 camera is awful but I bought it for music.

    • how much did you spend on Battery replacement? I have the same issue the battery wont last for half day.

Also the camera is pretty bad. thinking to get Oppo or P20 Pro

      • 25 bucks for the battery and 5 bucks for some B-7000 glue. Just replaced it myself.
Gluing it was a bit 50/50 but I was planning on getting a new phone soon anyway so I did the clear back mod for funs

    • I'm having the same issue with G6. After one year, the phones lags badly and using a few apps pushes CPU to go close to 40c. Sometimes I woke up with the phone very hot and with like 10% left from full charge. Thankfully I just dropped it on concrete and looking for a new phone now.

Got it during the Black Friday Mobicity eBay sale for $633 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/417346), so this is a good deal if you can get it from Officeworks price matched/beaten, but I wouldn't buy direct from eVision given that you can get AUS stock for the same price if you're patient.

Great phone btw; I wish it was 6gb, but I love the slim/tall size of the phone, wide-angle camera, expandable memory,Qi charge option and dedicated Google Home button (i'm pretty invested in that ecosystem, so it works well for me). Battery life so far has not been an issue at all.

    • Yea the focus on this post is officeworks, I wouldn't thought of getting one from evision lol
btw seems like evision has never been mention on ozbargain before, couldn't find anything via search

      • OW don't stock them

      • +1

It's not sold officially in Australia unfortunately; so if you want local stock, it's gotta be 4gb.

        • After the experience with my Xperia I'd rather find one with local stock so I can get warranty service

  • I wonder if it (local stock) get any lower….mmm??

  • just noticed this model only has 4gig of ram which is a bit on the low end these days

    • -1

Most laptops have 4gb ram and you want a sub $600 phone to have more than 4gb? LOL

    • I've added 4GB on the title

  • This vs the pocofone?

    • +2

      This.

      • This or Mi8? :)

        • +1

This because headphone jack. Mi8 has a slightly larger battery though.

        • I'd say Mi 8

    • there is no comparison…pocofone is a budget phone while this is flagship from a major brand…

    • Poco for price, but if same price, I'll get LG. You can get poco for $397 using PRIZER

      • It says 446.

        Item (1) AU $496.90
        Postage Free
        Vouchers/coupons -AU $99.38
        GST AU $49.69

        Adding gst ontop of it.

Is that a dual sim phone from the officeworks?
Sorry I have confirmed that it is a dual sim from the officework … good deal!

    • It's dual sim. All LG G7 ThinQ's are.

  • Edit. link of order added to main post

  • This or one plus 6

  • This or refurbished note 8 64GB

  • Better to get Oneplus6 IMO

  • This is a brilliant phone and well worth the $600. For the Snapdragon 845 alone - and thats before you get to the incredible Quad DAC (and headphone jack!) and the awesome wide angle camera lens.

True it is that the camera system overall isn't as good as my Galaxy S9 but for $600 it's worth the small compromise - it still takes great photos in my experience.

The battery life is also pretty good considering it is only 3000mAh.

  • Has anyone else gone to an Officeworks store for this deal?

Looking on their website no matter what store I select it shows no stock for the G7.
