    Generally the Velocity points are worth less than ANZ rewards

    • For flights?

    • +2

      This is something I am looking into right now, from what I can gather if I had 22,225 Reward Points I could do either of the following;

      • ANZ Rewards: Cash out for a $100 gift voucher (noting that if I wanted cash instead it would be 25,000 Reward Points)
      • Velocity: Transfer for 11,112 velocity points, and then sell for 1c per point minimum for $111 cash

      Now if I added the 30% bonus on transfer, I would get 14,445 points and could sell for $144 cash.

      All of the above is assuming I could sell the velocity points for 1c per point, I often see people requesting more than this on the classifieds and they seemingly sell for more.

      Does my logic seem sound? If so, I will probably pull the trigger and transfer everything from ANZ Rewards to Velocity in the next few days.

      • Sounds feasible except there have been a few posts on the frequent flyer forums recently of people getting velocity accounts suspended for buying/selling points. For simplicity I'd just get the gift card if that is what you want.

    • Yeah nah
