The Potato Sack - 13 hit indie games for $39

180

13 hit indie games for ~$39 via Steam! Plus a free TF2 hat!
If bought individually, the games would cost a total of $154.87 USD (I think?)
Any games you already own can be given away as gifts. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me with such titles as Super Meat Boy and Audiosurf included. Click through for full list.

    Nice! I might get it!
Have they had this deal before? Looks familiar.

    • +1

Not that they know of but it may bare similarity to some of those Indie Packs.

Nice deal, you gotta love indie games :D

So many here are good… The Wonderful End of the World, Reckless Disregard and Audiosurf are the only ones I've played but they're all brilliant.

It's misleading to say that you're saving 120 bucks though. Where it says 'Individual Price' down the bottom is what you'd pay if you bought them individually (about $77). I think the 'Package price' of 155 or whatever comes from the RRP value of each game, not the steam prices.

    • Hmm this confuses me. I'll get out my calculator…

Ok I think that they are all on sale right now even if bought individually. You're right to say that the 'Individual Price' is what they would cost from Steam right now, however the 'Package Price' is what it would cost on Steam usually.
      Or am I wrong?

Yeah I think that's it. Each game has a sale price and a regular price marked, so yeah that's probably where the difference comes from.

EDIT: Yeah that's exactly what you said… I'll just leave it at yes. I agree. Lol.

EDIT2: Nice first post btw :D

          Thank you <3

As another note I remember getting 'The Ball' for free ages ago, when it was just a demo sort of thing. It was one of the first things out when Unreal released the UDK (Unreal dev. kit). Never played it after downloading though, am trying to find where I hid the installer now lol, I want to try this xD

Apparently it won some awards: http://www.udk.com/showcase-the-ball

No saving for a mac gamer. Although I assume when super meat boy hits osx you will be able to get it.

Mac gamer? There are some out there?

      • +1

        There most certainly are.
I usually use bootcamp, but there are some games that have been ported, thankfully. Any game that runs off the source engine has been, as well as Civilization V. :)

I'm sure no one mention this yet. Buying the potato sack bundle confers a free TF2 potato hat if you own tf2.

    • +3

I'm so over TF2. I haven't touched it since they started charging for weapons.

      • +3

It's Hat Fortress 2 now.. Weapons are obtainable freely. Hats on the other hand is… going out of hand with $400 usd per unusual rare hat.

        • I don't mind having a few hats in the game (those Japan hats are a nice touch) it helps you identify the guy who killed you so you can seek revenge on them >:D

They don't force you to buy anything from the store. But if you think about it in terms of no more updates vs store and updates, then I think the latter would be the better option.

I could do with a good ol' potato sack.

Can vouch for Amnesia, Audiosurf and Super Meat Boy. Brilliant games.

  • +1

Audiosurf is great though a few years old now. If you like tower defence games Defence Grid is one of the best out there, very enjoyable.

  • +1

Amnesia is great, has a high degree of immersion which makes it scary as. Turn off your lights and turn up the speakers.
Killing floor is a semi-good mindless shooter.
Defense grid is an awesome tower defense game.
    Havent played the others.

  • Purchased :D Awesome indie games in this package. The only game I had already before purchasing the package was Killing Floor and I reckon it is a pretty fun game.

  • I picked up Defense Grid: The Awakening up late last year when it was on sale by itself, definitely recommend it if you like TD games.

I can also vouch for Amnesia, Audiosurf, BIT.TRIP BEAT, Killing Floor and Super Meat Boy, but with the exception of Audiosurf, I'd only go for each of those if you have interest in that sort of game. For example Super Meat Boy is a really great game, but nearly all platform games like that annoy me rather than entertain me :)
