Sid Meier’s Civilization VI

In order to establish and lead a civilization from the Stone Age to the Information Age – players will need to wage war, conduct diplomacy, advance your culture, and go head-to-head with history’s greatest leaders as you attempt to build the greatest civilization the world has ever known.
Advancing from its predecessor, Civilization VI cities now physically expand across the map, active research in technology and culture unlocks new potential, and opposing leaders will pursue their own agendas based on their historical traits – as you race for one of five ways to achieve victory in the game.

Word of warning this was free on Epic Games a while back - so just check your library.

      Base game only.

And iirc this game (like its predecessors) felt incomplete without their expansions.

Take that as you will, i played the freebie civ 6 and lost intrest and played civ5, then realised paradox is more fun.

Sometimes base game purity is best though, expansions and DLC have a lot of power creep. And the natural disasters bother my OCD of perfect cities and can jam too many new mechanisms in.

Ah don't post this. I need my time for other things!

VII is coming in a few months - time to start again! - though I much prefer V

Civ v with ui mod is the best civ game.

      • +1

Yeah Civ V with mods was freaking awesome. So much good stuff with UI mods and a few other things. Would consider going back to that again. I eventually migrated to VI, but it wasn't the same. Haven't played with later expansions though. Curious to see about VII, but from past experience, the vanilla game is never worth the effort. I'll wait for the first expansion

Back in stock if you're still keen.

      • Appreciate the heads up!

  • Never played any civ before, however have been previously interested and may bite the bullet. Out of curiosity though, is there like an end game to each civ/expansions? In the past I’ve consistently heard things like “oh you’ll say one more turn and then it’s 3am” kind of stuff. I’m happy to play the game and hopefully it isn’t too hard, however don’t want the game to be a level of “must invest time - or else it’s pointless” - would rather avoid if this is the case.

  • the platinum edition on the other tab even better reduced from A$170.24 to A$10.21
thanks op i bought it stay free stay healthy :)

  • Not quite the same but you can also play this as a Netflix mobile game as part of your Netflix subscription.
