    I wondered that, but if I was going to South America, I'd consider flying to AKL on Jetstar, then doing this deal. Nice and comfortable lie flat for the long haul!

    It's fairly common for people to fly to NZ before say, Chile, Argentina (eg LATAM, Air NZ deals). This offers a deal for getting great seats.

      Given it's cheaper to fly from Melbourne via Auckland to Chile on the same plane, I'm not sure that makes any sense.
