How can I use generic code?
Just need to say it to the counter lady
@tempura: ah thanks.
@darshu: remember it has to be the ladies and not the blokes
@tempura: can confirm, bloke refused the code.
@ThePriceMatchGuy: Do I have to be the one to write "I told you so" ?
@tempura: what about the counter non-binarys?
Marry me
First I've heard of a generic code ever. Are these in-house?
Huh? You just don't log into the app.
I haven't used the app in like three months. I wrote a script that just generates codes from a bank of users
Is there a limit per order? Thinking of serving steamed clams tonight for a special dinner..
1 use per unique code. Generic codes have unlimited uses.
There is, 1 per order. If you want to purchase another one, you will have to re-order another one. Which I find annoying, once it's put through you have to try re-order but then one of the staff calls your order before you put through another one. @ nxllson you beat me to it when I was still writing it. All good.
Damn. I mean steamed hams anyway. Too early. I don't know if I want to make a trip to Maccas just for one $2 burger or go through the deal putting in 10 separate orders.
I know that's the most annoying part about it.
Mmmm… Haaaammmmmm.
You want 10 burgers? For how many people?
@John Kimble: Just me and my boss.
@AustriaBargain: Superintendent Chalmers is a big eater
If you go to quite an empty store, there may be two kiosks next to each other. Use both of them and check out at same time, this will ensure the quickest ordering + you can use generic code 9526 as the reward code.
The staff can wait, no big deal. They’ll just look at you funny after giving them ten separate receipts for ten quarter pounders.
Can’t do that. Way too awkward…
When are they going to do fresh beef in Australia? I had Quarter Pounder in the US and you could taste fresh beef in there.
@klownvandamn: Instead of the unfresh beef they serve here?
@spaceflight: It's frozen over in Australia. The taste is day and night difference.
I really enjoyed Quarter Pounder over in the US.
@klownvandamn: Nothing to do with fresh/frozen. They use grain fed beef. We use grass fed.
@mellosweep: Hate to break the news to you but Australia exports a ALOT of beef to the USA exclusively for use by US Grinders supplying to McDonalds over there. So the burger you buy in 'murcia may well have beef sourced from Australia.
@klownvandamn: They are cooked from frozen and should be. These are teenagers handling this raw meat. McDonald’s grill is foolproof unless you press the 10/1 button when you load 4/1 patties, they’ll still be raw when the clam grill automatically opens up. Or if you press the 4/1 after loading 10/1’s, they will burn. Other than that it’s a foolproof system that you don’t want to introduce defrosted raw meat into.
@klownvandamn: That wasn’t beef you tasted
might be obesity is why they are looking rather than 10 orders ….. are people taking them home to reheat later ?
the calories of even 2 as a meal is enough to power a household.
@garage sale: Xmas dinner for friends & family sorted.
This is an excellent idea. I will do this tonight.
Simple, yet genius!
Just made a double order and it worked perfectly.
If you have a mate who is willing to help out, it'll work out well. One churns out orders on the kiosk, the other pays at the counter.
Sounds more like organising a heist than collecting a deal.
You can stack your personal code with the generic code in 1 order.
Only at the kiosk not at counter? ( Or app)
I've only stacked the code at kiosk, but I don't see why it wouldn't work at counter if you give them 2 different codes to enter into system.
skiNNER!!
Already poundered by this rain, no quarter pounder for me today.
Weather seems fine here
Weakling!
this rain
Funny name for your partner
The meat patty's ingredients is the same as in a Big Mac, right? I think I noticed more of a tang in the Quarter Pounder (kinda like the Sausage McMuffin, which someone here explained to me could be white pepper), but maybe it's due to volume to surface area ratios.
P.S. I wonder if mods will remove this post as duplicate.
It's pretty consistent. If it's previously been posted in the title of a deal and someone reports it as a duplicate (or they see it) they'll remove it, otherwise it will remain.
Yeah I've heard about the title loophole before. A bit like the random Twitter limit deciding what's most important. I saw the large sundae a couple of times so I thought they were leniant for these deals, but I see a lot of duplicate deals were in fact removed.
The irony is that the less impressive deals would get away with reminders in cases like this.
both patties are identical ie just ground beef. The only difference if any, could be a CL of each patty type. Typically they will be something like 75-80 CL, I'm unsure if there is a difference between the 4-1 and 10-1 pattie.
If it's the same as Big Mac, why QP cost slightly more than BM? i.e 2x slice in BM vs 1x slice in QP.
Because it has slightly more beef than a big mac (90.7 grams total for big mac, vs 113.4 grams Quarter Pounder)
The tang is the orange Mac sauce. It comes in a big tube like silicon gel and they have a custom made squirter gun attachment. It’s the one thing I wanted to steal from the store.
You an ask for big Mac sauce to be added to any burger. Or even get it in a sundae lid for dipping chips into.
Who's getting their boats out in Sydney to go get 2 buck Quarter Pounder?
No one cares about Sydney
McD doesn't like us taking screenshots
Yikes! We're in trouble now.
Can you use the generic code at the counter? My local maccas doesn't have the self serve machines. Thanks!
Yes you can, just show it to them at the counter and they'll put it in. I've done this before
Edit you can use this screenshot
Better download the screenshot before it gets deleted!
It's stored on ozbargain storage haha don't think mods will delete my files?
Mm Steamed hams!
This, the thickshake and the sundae have been my favourite
These are much better with special sauce
Which special sauce? Coles or Ryan Reynold's?
Why don't you tell me seeing as you clearly know more about both than I do
It's a conversation between A and B
@tempura: Must be a dry conversation between A and B if there's no sauce in between
@[Deactivated]: Incorrect! There's already sauce in the conversation between A and B however it was implied it will be better with special sauce ;)
and lettuce, get two, take the top bread off one, put the other burger on top and you've got a big big mac
When I went to the self service terminal to get just the $2 burger, the price at the end said $6.15 even though I registered my code. Usually this price drops to the special price when you actually get to the pay part and so I just did my usual tap and go before I realised that I was still being charged $6.15.
Fortunately I just went to the counter and they refunded me the $6.15 in cash AS WELL as giving me my burger. :-)
Cool

Bro.You have to order using the app that uses your dedit card.
Incorrect
I entered my four digit code on the self serve terminal.
How come i didnt have the four digit code? The app insisted me to pay using a credit or debit card.
@Overcomerak: I used the kiosk. Self serve terminal in the store. I only used the app to get the code.
To get the code, just click on the ‘Scan at restaurant’ button on your offer page.
Don't fall for it guys, eat fresh salad instead.
Are you saying the salad in it is not fresh?
Is this healthy to eat?
Absolutely!
Corta panda!
Using codes in the mobile app, I got refused 2 times by the kiosk and 1 time by the guy at the counter (either invalid or used code). McD shouldn't have launched this campaign if it's beyond affordability of the company.
today's deal caused absolute mayhem at my local. if you are the tosser in the black 4wd ute who kept beeping his horn and argued for 10 mins about using 3 codes at once, i hope you feel good about making the drive thru girl cry.
He's no tosser, ozbargain stacker expert .. mcdonalds brought this onto themselves
When I ordered a Small Cheese Burger Meal and added the Quarter Pounder to get it for $2 it ended up adding 2 x Quarter Pounders for $2 ($1 each).
Did anyone else have this happen?
I had this happen at McDonalds Elanora QLD and was done via drive thru.Lucky bugger
