There have been some previous deals for Vega 56 for another ~$60 (which adds freesync and trades blows with a GTX 1070ti/1080) but this is a solid price for an aftermarket gtx 1070.

edit: updated cashback prices to be ex-gst.

Where do you see Vega 56 at that price?
I am looking for Vega 64 which is at par with 1080 or above and missed the $6XX price earlier.

  • worth it getting it from Amazon US? how's warranty like? :S

    • +3

EVGA have (pretty sure they still do) an international warranty regardless of where you purchase it from - usually 3 years for GPU's.

      Great price btw

      • +2

yes EVGA are the only gpu manufacturers with global warranty, $40 to ship to Taiwan but u shouldn't need it.

  • I'm sitting on a GTX 980 with a 1440p 144hz monitor at the moment.
Better to wait for the future rather than spending money on this?
Doesn't seem to be any end in sight with the GPU prices being higher than before.

    • +6

well u can wait for the the future in the future and get stuck in an endless loop.

    • 1070 isnt poweful enough for 1440p 144hz, you would need a 1080ti minimum if not sli.

      • +8

Or you could turn one setting from Stupid/Ultra to High.

      • 1070 is literally the sweetspot for 1440p 144hz monitors in terms of price/performance. Try realistic settings and AA.

        • Sweetspot for 1440p 60Hz or 1080p 100Hz.
Why buy expensive gpu and monitor yet skimp on graphics?

        • +2

1070 is literally the sweetspot for 1440p 144hz monitors in terms of price/performance.

          Hahaha GTFO.

1070 is the sweet spot for 2560x1440 at 60Hz.

          • @Diji1: Maybe if you have an illogical hard-on for garbage-tier ultra settings.

Get some real settings + judicial AA and you'll find exactly what a real sweet spot is. Ta ta kiddo.

            • @Smashed Avo: ive got a 1080 and i cant even get 100fps on the less demanding AAA games… kind of regret my predator purchase since i dont get high enough fps to utilise it. The whole point of 1440p is for games to look good. Stupidityis lowering settongs to medium/high just to get 80fps…

Dont even get me started on AC Oddysey 🙄

      • +1

        Wrong. I run 1440p 165Hz with a 1070 just fine.

        • Medium settings? There is a hell load of settings involved mate.

          • +1

@EnALup: Generally yeah. Some games run on max. Lots of variables, but overall, I think it's a good combo.

This is pretty par for the course, especially if you have a 980.

Wait until close Navi launch to see where things fall, as there'll likely be RTX price drops then, and then re-assess.

I honestly think prices will normalise a bit in 2019 between VRAM supply and maturation of 7nm processes, leading to a pretty awesome 2020 launch for both AMD and NVIDIA.

    • im sitting on a gtx 980 also. still no real reason to update for me, as im not playing the latest games that need the tech. still very happy with performance. Not going to get value out of these newly released cards. Its an easy wait until february/march next year.

  • Great price!
Just something to keep in mind if you guys considering this graphics card.
I bought the SC model (not the SC Black) 2.5 years ago, my pc blew up 3 days ago with white smoke coming out of this graphics card. (no it's not the psu)

Will be sending it back to Taiwan for a replacement (3 years warranty).

    • Did you mine coins :)?

      • Nah, just normal use, less than 6 hours a day.
After reading the reviews on Amazon, it seems that I should have contacted EVGA to get a thermal pad

  • This was $413 (299USD) + shipping yesterday.

    • Thanks.. I almost bought it…

      • Seems to be US299 once again .

        Edit from amazon US .

    • +5

Correct me if I'm wrong but with the tax, it ends up being $492.36 and you can't get cashback through Amazon US.

      • Probably correct .

  • B&H has the GTX 1060 SC 6GB on sale for UsD 209, for those interested.
