Healthy saving of over $700 over standard pricing at the moment, with a higher spec bump (faster CPU, extra 8GB RAM). If you configure for 16GB RAM it's a $907.10 saving with a slower CPU. 39 units available at time of writing.

A change of pace from the OzB favourite Thinkpads. Latitudes have always been my weapon of choice.

  • The Dell Latitude 13 7390 for $989 didn't have Bluetooth - just an FYI it doesn't appear this one does either…

  • Anyone know if you can charge this via USB-C?

    • +1

Pretty sure that’s how they charge - I have a 13 for work and they come with a new style dock that uses USB-C for dock connection.

    • +1

      yes, but at slower speed

  • Can we get a deal on the longitude model?

  • Not all 7390 7490 have thunderbolt 3 port, unspecified usually means usb-c with displayport support.

Also the WLAN/wwan is listed near screen spec, does that mean it support LTE model? That would be a huge plus for me.

Looking for an decent spec refurbished 7390/7490, 7490 have dual ram slots and 7390 just 1. 16g, NVME ssd, 1080p screen not glossy and I am done.

    • Screen spec only means that the antennas are there, you'll need to confirm the card's installed. Best get on livechat and ask them about BT/WWAN on this config, which I haven't had time to do.

    • There's a refurb 7490 up now - non-touch matte 1080p screen but 512GB SSD: https://www.dell.com/en-au/outlet/ProductDescription?cfID=ED…
      .
Again, you'll need to get on chat to get the exact WIFI/BT/WWAN config.

was it just me or someone else noticed ridiculously low prices on outlet site last thursday in the morning? did someone manage to order? I saw XPS laptops AS NEW for as low as $539

    • +2

      Bought a 7370 for $599, i7-8550u/16/512.

I was 8 min late to the online chat (and 15 people already in front of me) and all the insane price items were gone like wind.

      • Hi Andylch,

Can you give me the link?
I would like to get one :D

        • +1

All good deal were gone within 1 hour in that morning…

But you still can check out what is available now:

@andylch: yeah.. I thought I should go for something low profile because a lot of people would go for the XPS, but then I said screw it it's my birthday I must have it! sorry

          • @andylch: Thanks a lot mate :)

      • +1

        I bought said XPS 9575 15 2 in 1 with i7/8/512, Vega grapics, for $539.
good! so I wasn't alone. I thought it was a price error and was expecting a cancellation any moment. but here I am typing away on it, only regretting I didn't buy 3

P.S. the chat is said to open at 10am, but it's not available till about 10.10am, I checked every 20 seconds :D and when I got to chat there were 2 ppl in line in front of me. how rude!

        • This was my primary target! What time did you start the online chat?

          • @andylch: 10:11:34 was the start of the session according to the transcript. That's when the agent said hi, but my first message was the order number straight away. I asked to confirm model and price, and it took him 10 minutes to confirm that, and I immediately said "buying it" after he confirmed both. what time did you chat?

            • @[Deactivated]: I click "chat" at 10:08, but waited until 10:45 to get someone to serve me.

              • @andylch: yeah when I wanted to make a payment 2 days later I found a 65 ppl queue in chat! SHOCKER! so I did a bank transfer instead, don't need chat for that. There are probably just 2-3 guys servicing the chat.

                • +2

@[Deactivated]: The first 2 things I typed when starting the chat:
                  1. Item no.
                  2. Credit card no.

Just shut up and take my money. :)

                  • @andylch: hahaha yes

        • +1

I reckon those 2 people bought all the XPS 13…

          • @andylch: I thought I should go for 13, but man, 4k screens make horrible scaling when I do remote desktop, and I do that a lot. Also 13 inch not enough for me to do any serious work. Also I need color accurate screen for photo work, so I guess that 15 XPS was the only option I would have gone for.

Don't be sad, it's not all that great. Keyboard is very shallow and noisy, I am still getting used to it, and the clickety-click gets on my nerves. Also it tends to get rather hot.

P.S. can't imagine anyone shelling out $2k+ for it, the price I paid is right! :D

            • @[Deactivated]: Too bad they didn't have 9370. 9365 is using Core m7 which may be too weak for your work.

For just $539, what else you can ask for? :D

              • @andylch: yeah, it was a month of bargains for me. pro Canon lens for $600, like new, full frame camera for $200 like new, now this.. I gotta sell all the tech I am replacing now!

              • @andylch: also speakers suck, and there are no usb a ports, only 4 C and thunderbolt. are you in Melbourne? wanna swap? :D
