  • Very good Deal and great camera for beginners!

  • Wow that's a very good price. Is this the successor to the D3400? What are the main improvements with is model over the last one?

    • +1

      Yes, it is.

Better button placement, improved battery life, new grip shape, slightly smaller/lighter.
Other than ergonomics and battery life, no change to tech, same resolution & sensor.

  • Great price. Shame they're not doing similar discount on the twin lens kit.

  • +2

Tried price matching at Ted's. This price fell below their cost price. Bought on Amazon. Thanks OP <3

  • This or sony a6000?

    • Imo, this provides more flexibility (lenses) and value for money.

A6000 provides more convenince (small and light weight).

  • Is it crazy to buy this and chuck a Tamron 70-200 F2.8 on it? I want that lens for what I shoot, if I like it I'll upgrade the body.

    • No. Keep in mind what the lense is designed or and what type of shooting you require. If you want it for action you probably want a camera that has more than a pitiful 11 AF points.

      • Yeah want for action, but had a brain fade and was thinking this was full frame which makes no sense lol

        • D500 (crop) and D750 (full frame) are good options if you have the money.

          • @FlipCrank: Cheers, been looking at D750 but really tempted by Fuji X-T2 at the moment (I know it's a crop).

    • I'd get the d5XXX range for action, 39 AF points.
I had the d3400 in the past but wasn't satisfied with the autofocus

      • Thanks for the tip, I'm actually looking at a Fuji X-T20 now, 325 focus points :D

  • Also on Amazon at that deal the OP has linked too is this.

  • Deal is back on again today. Debating between this or holding out for a deal on D5600 as I think the touch screen is something I'd need for focusing.
