Looks like decent price on this.

The Yardking 18" 450 Cut and Catch Lawn Mower has a durable 18" steel chassis. Powered by the easy starting Briggs and Stratton 450E 125cc OHV Engine, the Yardking 450 has plenty of power to ensure the job gets done! Deal Expired

  • Durable 18" pressed steel chassis
  • Durable fabric catcher
  • Single bar blade
  • 2 year limited domestic engine warranty

Makita's dual voltage rapid charger is a great piece of equipment if you have both 12V and 18V Makita tools. You can charge both batteries, the first on will charge first and the next after the first is complete. It saves having 2 different chargers on the site.

  • Ability to charge both 18V LXT and 12V MAX CXT battery platforms
  • Built-in CPU - gathers information from the battery's memory chip to determine optimum charging method
  • Forced air cooling fan - cools the battery to minimise charging time
  • LED power display identifies the condition of the battery and charging condition
  • Rapid Charge - Selects the optimum voltage, current and temperature for reduced charge time

  • Fabric catcher. Put the money towards a masport mower

    • +4

Simply being a fabric catcher isn't a bad thing - thats whats on all proper Honda commercial mowers (and most other brands commercial lines too). Dunno if I'd rep Masport mowers too much - they're nothing spesh with some ok and some very ordinary models within their range.

Do you have facts that make this better?

Do you have facts that make this not?

    • +5

Fabric catchers are good in that they hold more clippings, but you get covered in dust, and they do wear in particular where it rubs on the rear flap

Solid catcher is the way too go

This also has flat not upturned top handle, and small wheels…NO

Must be an Aldi mower coming up.

Was back in Sept. i purchased one, $139, exceeded my expectations

      • +1

Good to know, it's still available in some stores marked down to $99

        • +2

Yes, i had to buy it twice, then return it to get the lower price :-)

Least i was honest and returned the new cheaper boxed one, and not the used!

          • +1

@8200: Aldi advertises mowers a few times (<4) throughout the year. It's great to get these since they have 3 years of warranty, much cheaper than other mowers.

  • Gee what gross overpricing for a simple battery charger - reading 18v/36v packs is nothing a good hobby charger can't do and for essentially the same tech thats poor.

  • I’m currently looking for a mower between $300 and $400 and don’t know what to look for, what does everyone recommend buying? Thanks.

    • self drive

get such a sore back from my old school 4st

    • Depends on the size of the yard.

This is great value and has a Briggs & Stratton motor which are very reliable and easy to start.

      • do you have any recommendation for a small electric mower?

        • No, sorry, never used them.

      • Well i have a big back yard and a medium front yard

    • It all depends what you want and how big your lawn is. If you have a very small yard an electric one might be the way the go, or even corded. I'm not a fan as i know batteries will die sooner or later so i like petrol mowers. But in saying that best to ask on the forums i guess.
This mower is quite decent as it uses a Briggs and Stratton engine and they're a pretty good brand for mower engines. Can't say much about the rest of the mower though.
      Good luck!

  • Good price for the petrol mower, given its got a reputable engine and a 18" blade. Bear in mind it's a bar blade. They tend to dull quickly so you'll need to be able to sharpen it.

small engine, single bar, fabric catcher … nah

    • +1

      Its also $160.

      • well if you want cheap stuff then aldi recently had a 18" 4-stroke 161cc mower with 55L hard catcher for $139

        • The Ducar 161cc engine on the ALDI/909 mower is superior to the cheapest B&S engine

          More power/torque
          Cast Iron Bore
          Less noise
          Larger fuel tank
          3 year warranty

  • +1

That's with Briggs & Stratton motor, shouldn't complain

  • +2

Just as I thought! It's a Yard King! That is a quality barrow …

I picked one of these up last year. I'm a big fan of it especially for the price, never had an issue with it and it does a nice job on my reasonably small garden.

  • +2

That's a great price for a cheap and cheerful mower.
