So the new cards around this price aren't a good deal ? I remember paying close to $1k for my 1080 when it first came out
It's hard to please when it comes to technology, everyone expects a dramatic difference in performance, whilst being cheaper than the previous generation.
I guess most people here won't know that some of us had to pay $3,000 for a "just above" avergae PC back in 1995, where the average wage was about $450 a week.
Do the math.
That's sorta why people expect cheaper but better.
hitting silicon limit, people cant expect huge performances anymore and there no competition.
Frankly speaking, I really can't accept a consumer level graphic card's price can be high than PC itself. nVidia is monoply, AMD, please hurry up.
