Ledger Nano S: AU $79.99 (Was $159.99) Delivered @ Ledger

890

So I just picked up the Ledger Nano S Whitepaper Edition (unboxing I did here) to now find just over a week later a HALF PRICE sale on the standard matte black! If you've got crypto then jump on this deal as $79.99 is great. (also as as outlined in my unboxing vids desc, these are known to be tampered with if not direct from Ledger, so I wouldn't risk it).

@Serapis: You haven't lost it until you sell it. :)

              • @EightImmortals: Depends what your perception of value is I guess… 🤔

              • @EightImmortals: I had to sign in just for this comment, you have lost before you sell because the value has gone and you are stuck holding worthless crypto which you paid for with real money and you cannot use that money for anything else… hence you lost even before you sold

          • @dhleoz: Me four :D

Really great device if you own any cryptocurrencies. Don't store them on exchanges or your local computer (and worry about getting hacked).

A hardware wallet is a good secure method to store cryptos - short or long term. Just make sure you know how to recover them in-case of device failure, or other unfortunate scenarios. Create, test, reset, test recovery, and repeat before you fully commit to storing coins on a hardware wallet (well technically coins ain't stored on the device itself).

      … in-case of device failure

Good point. Should we be buying two of these in case one completely fails, or for a second offsite backup? Thanks.

      • +1

Nope. If you back up the keys properly, you should be okay. Laminate those keys and store them in a safe.

Personally I've scrambled my keys so even if someone finds it, just looks like mumble jumble.

You can always use these keys to restore it on another device, or wallet or even a different kind of device.

I invested in pumpkins, I have a feeling they're gonna peak around January…

  • I am confused.. so this can be tampered and hence I should buy ? Or not?

    • +3

If you buy from third party sources or Gumtree or eBay etc then there is risk of these being tempered. But this particular one is from the official source so should be okay.

    • As secure if not more secure just get an old Android phone, create a work profile install you wallets send your coins to the wallets, pull the sim if any out and bingo your coins are offline with major encryption.

    • Go for it if you are buying from ledger directly 😊

  • Maybe I could link 24 gtx1070's and make a epic fortnite rig. sigh.

  • Lost about $2k already in Crypto but still just invested another $80 in this device.

  • there's still money being made, it's the hoard that's just off crypto for get rich quick dreams.
I'm not a fan of ledger s btw but Re: crypto theres people that have a statistical understanding and a bit of time are still doing quite well

How much is this really once you paid for customs and import GST?

This is shipped from outside Australia, last time I looked Ledger don't collect import duties and GST like eBay etc.

  • Seems like we have an extended Bear Market and might need to keep the currency secure for long term and I would not recommend to leave it on exchanges.

JUST HODL Guys everything will be fine.

    • HODL is a farce unless you know the fundamentals and have the up most confidence in the offering…even then there's fluctuations that are driven by external variables

  • The shorters have been the ones kicking goals.

Cheaper at Amazon with cash rewards if you have prime

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Ledger-Nano-Cryptocurrency-Hardwar…

    • Good find! Thanks

      • Sold by amazon so it would be fine/ not tampered with?

        • I think so. Also, Ledger packaging has Anti-tamper seal so if there is any sign of tamper, returning it to Amazon should be very easy.

Everyone is so knowledgeable about cryptos here…

A guy at work had to leave because we made so much fun of him all of this year as he entered Crypto late last year and was boasting his gains. He went crazy last year in DEC showing everyone these Bitcoins and became a showoff. Than all this year he was quiet and just recently in the last 4 weeks he quit. Poor dude, we mentally destroyed him at work by making fun of him and his Crypto. Feel bad actually. I am sure many Christmas parties will be awkward this year with family.

Glad you feel remorse, because that's a genuinely shitty thing to do. A workplace bullying a bloke for placing himself into a situation of financial loss; to the extent he was forced to leave. Jesus.

I had about 300$ in an alt, prices dropped a bit.. i moved some of my money off the exchange and tbh just left it as it was too low to sell.

Then i logged in 4 months later and found that binance just deleted the alt from the exchange for performance issues or something… And poof, my alt coins, gone.

    • Oh yea, username checks out… :/

Just like my track record with crypto, I bought this Ledger at $159.99 only to miss out as it goes on sale

    • You and me both haha

  • Just got one thanks
