You also appear to be able to add as many cases as possible..

    • Wow lol!

      • Actually only 50…. D:

        • Edit.. Got it!

        • Just bought 50. Surely this is a bug ;)

          • @Ameowzon: Yeah Im not being that greedy just went for 5 extra to cover the existing Echos around the house!

      • -1

Thanks ordered 50 of each colour ;)
Total of 150 cases valued at $1500+ for free. Where are you broden?

        Edit: No I didn't

        • +1

Some people on here just don’t see sarcasm.

    • lol echo dot and 50 cases for $18 would be bargain of the century

      • What would anyone ever do with 50 cases though?? Honestly though I think Amazon are happy to just get rid of the old stock anyway they can, hopefully just brush this off as some good PR and clearing out the warehouse.

        • +4

I’d use one for the echo and 49 as cock rings, because the lord was kind to me in that department.

          • +3

@cnut: Must be hard to get pants that fit when you have so many cocks

          • @cnut: Not sure how you'd use them for a rooster…? Maybe as comb warmers?

    • Lets be honest here, did anyone try broden it and add 50 to cart

  • Thanks, bought 1

    • +1

      DONT FORGET 8% CASHBACK!!!

      • 20% **

  • I was hoping to get 2 new dots, with OPs deal though have been able to get 4x instead. Thanks OP awesome!!

  • It's a pity that the new Echos don't appear to be on special.

    • its not on special at amazon.com either, unless you buy it with a Fire Stick 4k which brings it down to $25USD. (PS. amazon.com wont ship the fire stick 4k to aus)

    • I agree it's annoying, but at $18.05 given that the difference between the 2nd and 3rd gen is pretty small, this is a bargain.

      • Do you mind sharing the link to that free case deal?

        • +1

It should be on the page… maybe it's prime only?

  • +1

This deal is super cool, for $18.05 you get the Echo Dot and a case!

  • Wow, picked up a set + an extra case.

  • Thanks, purchased 4* more .. most for home use and four for presents.

Xmas presents are cheap this year

  • Very attractive but still got 1 Echo Dot at home unopened..
After setting couple of Google Home and Home Minis not using much Echo Dot now

Tho…with this price its still a great deal!

  • Wow this is awesome. Have to go to checkout for it to activate though. Won't see it in cart.

  • Great deal but I already got a Google home mini. Does this supplement or replace a goggle home mini?

    • Would replace, really. Would supplement a bit, but there's so much cross over between the devices it'd be hard not to favour one over another.

      • Ah thanks. Just as thought. Only thing I could think of to use the echo is for my audible books. Never could get Google home mini to work for that. With that price it's tempting though.

PS. Ah expired. Didn't see that. Solves the issue now

    • You could use both in different rooms, although you probably want all the same devices throughout your house just so you get consistent results.

      • Just a studio apartment unfortunately.

  • Free shipping without Prime!? Winning.

  • Was going to buy at the discounted price but this is even more awesome. I had a voucher Amazon gave me due to a previous issue so came down to $6.00. Hopefully they don't cancel it now.

  • +3

    Got one.
Don't know why… but got one!

    • same

  • +1

This makes for a great Christmas present!

  • "we have detected an error in the order and we have had to cancel it"

Auto email from Amazon…. 20 mins after placing order
I did have 5 of the cases in my order

    • I haven't gotten that error. I'm gonna assume it's just because you tried to get 5 cases.

      • yeah my single order is fine

    • -1

Ordered 6 and have yet to received cancellation.

      • It will come….

  • i hate it but bought it , dont know why

    • Mods should be along soon to give you your badge for that : ).

  • +3
    • Yea, I just realised I forgot to do shopback on the first purchase
      then order the 2nd one

[Tho I think they will cancel the orders.. :) ]

  • +1

it's fix now, you can no longer add as many case as you want

  • Nice!

  • +1

Managed to get 1 dot and 3 cases, to cover the other 2 from the other deal. Hope it comes through

  • brilliant deal. thanks op!

  • +1

Sold one of these for $50 on gumtree.. bought three more with the proceeds

  • +2

How am I missing the free case option. Have scrolled all over the page. I simply have a lot of full prices dots and $20.95 cases in my cart

    • +1

To see the free case option looks like you need to be logged in.
Once it's in the checkout the discount will be applied.

  • +2

Think I'm missing something - where is 'free case deal'? :/

    • +2

Just add separately to your cart, on the last page of the checkout, discount will automatically apply.

  • On the main page scroll down and you will see the free case deal..

  • Appears to be fixed.

  • Not working anymore?

  • +17

So many people here who ordered 50 cases just because you could.
It's you people who give us a bad name, taking things just because you can.

Unlike me, I only ordered 49.

    • You are doing great!

    • 42 here. I didn’t want to appear greedy or trigger any Amazon systems.

  • i only ordered 1 case. just in time too.

  • Guess its now fixed coz it's now showing $39 with the case.

  • Hah, looks like deal is now expired. I spent 15 mins deciding whether I'd actually find any use out of an echo dot and it seems I would not (can't stream with youtube or free version of spotify, and i don't pay for amazon music/prime or spotify premium). I don't have smart lights or home automation. Seems like it would be a glorified alarm clock or for asking basic stuff that I could google.

    • Just got on like 3 min ago.

      • Really? What are you doing? I can't seem to checkout for less than $39

    • For $18 delivered with a case, even functioning as a glorified alarm clock would have been good value.

      • Why? I have a smartphone for that. I didn't buy it even for $18 minus 20% cashback minus $5 coupon I have.

    • +1

does it not work as a bluetooth speaker?

      • Yes it sure does. Alexa, bluetooth on. Search on your phone and BAM off you go.

        • Thought so, easily worth 18 bucks

  • +1

Got 1, don't know why lol.

  • Does this still apply? My cart is showing a case plus amazon echo 2 on the final checkout page for $39 ($59 with $20 discount) delivered. I have Amazon Prime

  • -1

I didn't want but managed to buy 3 with 20% cashback

  • Error fixed. Now $39. Still cheap.

  • Has anyone else had single orders cancelled? Mine haven't been yet, cross fingers.

  • Is it working anymore?
Mine says $39 with the case added.

  • I don't understand the hype about this product in Australia. I got 2 of them for $ 36.50 with the recent Audible promo. I already have 3x Google Home but I thought I'd give it Echo a go at that price anyway.

I was pretty happy with it until I realised that there's a bunch of features that are not supported in Australia.

For example it does not recognise voices, unlike Google Home, it is unable to schedule your own appointment or play your own routines in the morning with your own news set up etc - no matter who talks to Echo, it act dumb and perceives you as the same person.

Well, I share my smart devices with my partner so it wasn't useful for us. Even though we paid $ 36.50 I requested a full refund and cancelled my membership. Both Echos were blacklisted (disabled) and are now in my storage room, useless.

    I should just bin them.

    • too late, already bought one

    • I’ll take them off you, I’ll pay shipping.

      • +2

        For non-functioning echos?

      • echoing into the abyss

    • +2

I hate mine. I tell it to stop the alarm and doesn't listen. Directions and stuff are awful as well. Prefer the google mini.

    • I do like mine but don't use them for much. Got them for average $20 per anyway. Mainly just the timer, alarm, music (bluetooth connected to proper speakers) functions

    • I prefer it for controlling lights because it doesn't talk back to me telling me that it's "turning off X lights" like the Google devices do… It just does it. But I find Google is better at finding songs, radio stations and podcasts.

    • -1

      it does not recognise voices

      https://alexa.amazon.com.au/spa/index.html#help/node/2021994…

Create a voice profile using compatible Alexa-enabled devices to personalize your experience with supported Alexa features.

Once you create your voice profile, Alexa is able to recognize your voice on most Alexa-enabled devices

Other adults in your home can create their own voice profile using your shared Alexa-enabled devices. They must log into the Alexa app with the account credentials used to register your shared Alexa devices. Once logged in, they select their personal profile and say, "Learn my voice."

      • +2

This feature is not available in Australia (confirmed by Amazon customer service) and you can't link more than one account with it - so no multiple google calendars or multiple morning routines with your own personalised set up,etc.

'The biggest frustration is that — nine months after launching in Australia — Alexa still can't recognise the different voices in your home.' - SMH article, dated to 24 Oct 2018.

        • +1

No households, no Freetime etc. Don't leave your kids alone with it not a single bit of parental control on the Echo side or even on Amazon Music.

  • Damn missed it. Now it comes to $39 for the echo + case which I guess is not too bad still.

  • Just got shipping confirmation :)

    • How many cases did u order

      • 1

      • Mine shipped with 50 cases

        • Wow really? Screenshot?

        • only 50…

Your Amazon.com.au order of "Amazon Echo Dot (2nd…" and 90 more item(s) has been shipped

          ( ordered 30 of each case… ) surprised it went through …
