LORD DELIVER MY WALLET FROM THESE HEADPHONE DEALS

  • Thanks OP. This deal is still a little cheaper for those that can get it through ebay US.

    • +1

Using 5% GC, this deal works out cheaper.

      • Yep, forgot about that.

      • I thought GC can be used in eBAY US as well?

  • +1

If the store doesn't price jack, getting here for $369 - 15% = $313.65 at 5pm today is probably a better deal.
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bose-QuietComfort-35-II-Noise-Ca…

  • After clicking on "Go to Deal" it redirects to ebay page but shows 0 results.

    • +1

Here's the 3 direct links for you:

      Triple Midnight
      Black
      Silver

      • Thanks. do they also provide receipt to claim the TRS?

        • I can't 100% remember if it comes in the box, but I'm sure if you messaged them they'd provide you a tax invoice.

  • +1

    Is this historic low?

  • do they also provide receipt to claim the TRS?

  • I tried - on checkout it says something like this code can't be applied when I tried the 'PLAYER20'

    • Working fine over here, is your account registered to AU?

      • Yup although I'm using my office PC. Will try my app or call my wife and ask her to try :)

      • Doesn't work for me…with an AU account. Tried both on laptop and app. Description is already showing -20% - original price was $499

        • Shows 20% off and a note saying save 20% with player20.

Typed in address on "continue as guest" account on my phone.

After adding address I could add voucher /coupon (button was greyed before I added address)

And now it shows as -~80 dollars off list price (IE ~OP price of 320).

This is no account, haven't actually pulled the trigger yet…

  • Hi Folks - please excuse me noob ignorance here. First time 'deal shopper'.

So to purchase these headphones, I'll need to do the following:
    - buy 3x ebay GiftCards which include 5% discount, per card … when I pay with each/any gift-card.
    - add headphones @ $399 to cart and checkout.
    - add promo code PLAYER20 … which will add a large discount.
    - add 3x gift cards to payment method, which adds 5% discount (ie. takes off 3x $5 from price)
    - pay $3.24 with creditcard/paypal/whatever…

    final notes:
    - my ebay account can be an AU account
    - shipping is free to an AU address

    is this about right?

(SIDE NOTE: I know there's another deal for these headphones for a few dollars cheaper but I'd have to create another ebay account .. and that has to be a US account .. so i'm just seeing if this method/steps (above) is easier … at a few dollars more).

    • You already got 5% off when you bought giftcard ie you pay $95 for $100 giftcard.

      • Ah! Cheers @z28!

What about the rest of the steps … do they sound about right/accurate?

    • Yes, that's the process.

      • @t3chshopper and having an AU account is fine? that promo code works with AU accounts / AU Delivery?

(sorry again if this is all really basic questions).

        • Yes, the code is from this Australian deal. It has nothing to do with that US ebay deal.

          • +1

            @t3chshopper: Thanks kindly @t3chshopper!

ok - bought 3x 100$ gift cards (for 95@)… now the email says I need to wait (possibly up to) a few hours for this 'gift-card order' to be processed. Eeks. hope the deal remains ….. :/

            • @PureKrome: I bought 3x$100 gift cards this morning and received them in exactly 10 minutes.

            • @PureKrome: I bought the gift cards during lunch time (~12.30pm) and have not received the codes yet… meanwhile Microsoft eBay have sold more than 80% of those Triple midnights already.. Hope there are some left when I get the codes

    • Don't forget Cashrewards or ShopBack

      • Cashrewards said you can't claim cash-backs on purchases of gift cards/coupons though, maybe i'm wrong..

  • got one, thanks!~

  • Didn't know a triple midnight edition existed

  • +3

Bought one even though don't need it.

  • Thanks op, got one!

  • Holy shiet, so many people bought it today

  • Hi all,
It seems a basic question..but am new here…from where to get the 5% gc?

    Thanks

    • +2

Seriously…. the link is in the description

  • For people who own these, I am looking to purchase new headphones to primarily use on PC, occasionally with gaming. I am not an audiophile at all, but would rather spend money on a good pair of headphones rather than gimmicky "gaming" headsets. Would you recommend these?

    • +1

No. Get a set of Beyer DT770 pro's (80 ohm). They'll last you a decade and sound much better than these!

And yeah, don't get a "gaming headset" lol

      • Thanks a lot for the heads up! Much appreciated.*

        • Yeah I wanted to give you more details but I'm busy and on the phone. Don't have time to get the sources and review but basically,

          1. You want good bass and a wide sound stage for gaming (imaging and explosions, etc).

          2. You don't need "surround sound" headphones, look up the "virtual barber" and video on YouTube and listen to it with any pair of headphones (we only have 2 ears but hear direction just fine)

          3. 80ohms should be fine to drive off your motherboard sound card.

          4. These also sound great for music. If future, you have the choice to buy a headphone amp if you want to get more audiophile lol.

Note: you'll need a separate microphone. You can buy cheap clip-on mics which attach to the headphone.

          • @idonotknowwhy: Yeah I have been looking at a ModMic to go with them. Thank you for taking the time to detail this, saves a lot of hassle (and money).

    • +1

These are portable, wireless, noise-cancelling headphones. Ideal for noisy plane, train or open-plan office environments.

    • Bluetooth based wireless means very low but sometimes perceptible audio delay when watching video.

They are the latest gen Bluetooth so it's not as bad as the first gen Bluetooth, but still not ideal for PC/TV use. (REALLY not ideal if that is their intended purpose), they certainly work well enough as a backup PC / tv headphones, but I wouldn't buy it specifically for that purpose.

  • Thanks OP. Beens looking for this colour quite sometime and finally pulled the trigger. Good on ya!

  • +1

Bought. Still better headphones than the 1000xm3.

    • Shots fired, I love it

  • +1

Still waiting on my 5% off gift card email to come through. Anyone else having a problem?

    • Yep. I bought 3x 100$ gift cards (with 5% discount) @ 11:41am. Received an email saying 'order placed, wait for another email with redeem codes'. Payed via PAYPAL.

      • haven't received redeem email yet.
      • haven't received paypal confirmation email either, yet.
      • Got mine after 4 hours and 5 minutes.

  • Just bought.. even not needed…ozbargain…

  • An unwanted xmas present to myself.…ozbargain…

  • Anyone reckon there will be another deal as sweet by around mid-April? Travelling overseas in May, want to get TRS as well.

    • +2

      Yes

    • what is TRS? sorry :d

      • google

  • WOW this is cheap, i paid 380 not so long ago.

  • thanks OP heaps.

BTW noob question here: which colour should I purchse?? Triple midnight or Black? Def not going to get the Silver pair by the way..

    thanks!

    • Easier to get spares for black or silver.

  • Amazon deal is better especially after Cashrewards and even better with Amex (if you have Amex)

  • Was looking at the triple midnight blue but it seems spares for this limited edition model are rare as, especially in Australia.

Hate to spend so much on headphones then not be able to get replacement ear cushions, they only sell black and silver.

    https://www.bose.com.au/en_au/products/headphones/headphone_…

    • I had (have?) the same conundrum.

Got sucked in and bought the triples- I guess if I have to replace the pads down the track I'll just put the blacks on, should look OK.

      • -1

        should look terrible.

        • +1

i think silver pads would look cool on the triple midnight if you had to replace.. just imagine a custom pair featured on the Bose US site

  • I was about to buy these, but then I realised they don't have Bluetooth 5.0, so I'm thinking I should hold off until next model…

    • +1

      Yes. I agree

  • Blue are sold out now here too.

  • Thanks OP! Bought them for $303.24 - Nervous wait for the gift cards to come through - 4 hours!!

  • +2

For anyone who purchased this yesterday for $319 and kicking themselves now that you can get it from Amazon for $299 plus 12.5% cashback from CashRewards, fear not!

By submitting an eBay price guarantee claim (https://www.ebay.com.au/help/buying/paying-items/ebay-best-p…) I was able to get awarded a $114.95 voucher because they take the difference from the full price of $399 and not the discounted price of $319 because it's PayPal that applies the voucher. In eBay's eyes, you paid the full price of $399.

    • That's amazing! Nice work :)

    • Hi @keyman ! can you please explain the process for this? please?
      - I purchased them yesterday afternoon for $319 (and yep, I used 3x gift cards with the 5% discount)

So I need to contact PayPal and say what exactly?
      - I purchased these yesterday (show link to my order?)
      - But amazon has them cheaper (provide some link to amazon?)
      - Also - how did you explain the 12.5% cashback thingy? Does PayPal respect that? (also, do I need to create this CashRewards account thingy?)

I know this is all nooby stuff, so I'm sorry for my inexperience .. but would really appreciate any help/clues, please :)

      • +1

Hey mate, the process is explained in the eBay link I shared. You can choose to either contact them via phone (shorter queues) or do online chat. I elected for the online chat option and all I needed to do was send them the link of the product I paid for on eBay and the Amazon link which was $299 at the time. Despite the price being for prime members only, the guy I got approved it straight away.

They do not account for the cashback so don't worry about that.

        To break it down:
The full price of the headphones was $399. Using the 20% off eBay voucher from this deal brought it down to $319. The voucher is "technically" PayPal paying 20% of the price and you making the 80% from your pocket. So in eBay's eyes, they received the full price of $399. So it ends up being $100 for the price difference and roughly $15 for the 5% price beat of Amazon's $299.

        Hope that helps!

        • Would you have happened to have a screenshot of the price when it was a deal? The deal is now finished on Amazon :(

          https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/goldbox/ref=gb_udp_def?ie=UTF8&…

        • Ok it seems like I may have gotten lucky with regards to the full price of $399. I'm hearing mixed reports of others only getting a discount off the $319 price.

          • @keyman: I might have had some luck @keyman ? Also - i have no idea about their EBAY CALC + math ….

            — transcript snippets —

EBAY: Okay, as I computed we will be generating a $95.76 voucher to your account.
EBAY: But please just give us 24-48 hours for this one <snip> since we do have loads of voucher request as of the day so this will be processed by batch.
ME: this was the difference of … $399 -> $299?
            ME: (and 5% extra??)
EBAY: Yes this is with 5% extra.
            ME: but …. $399 -> $299 == $100. 5% = $5 .. so is that 105$ voucher?
EBAY: We actually have our calculator here <snip>. we added the 5% and that percentage will be just coming from the $399.00 price with the eBay item.
EBAY: 5% will be from the competitors price I mean, I'm sorry.
EBAY: Alright, so please just give us time for this <snip>. Once I get a confirmation from the promotions team, I will get back to you immediately in your personal email address.

  • How long the battery would last? 3 years?

  • This item is out of stock :( :( :(

I just added this to my cart and then it's gone!!

  • Thanks @Doweyy! It's back in stock haha snatched one :)
