I didn't realize how expensive Ikea could still be.
It is very expensive in Australia (like everything else). When you compare the price of Billy book case to the exact same product over seas Australia is charged like 40% more then other countries. Why? Because they know they can get away with it here. Australians dont know what competition is.
More like we don't have competition. I'm looking for a new TV unit and the IKEA ones are way cheaper than anything else on the market by a heap

when I was looking for a tv unit I was tempted by the besta sets but they were a bit pricey.
ended up getting the combo below which is sorta inbetween these besta tv bench with drawers white ~$176 and besta tv bench ~$108
QTY unit PRICE decription 1 $60 kallax 1x4 white 3 $20 castors 2 $30 kallax drawer insert totals to $160 (possibly less I don't remember if the castors were sets or individual), I would probably get the besta while the sale is on but normally it's miles cheaper for a bit more length and height.
I find the versatility of the Besta the best thing about it. We bought 1x3 unit, glass top, glass door, push open draw and 2 glass shelves for about $250 a while ago. We thought this was reasonable because we got exactly what we wanted in terms of shelves and storage.
A few days ago we upgraded it by getting an additional shelf and glass top, 3 half depth shelves and other bits for about $300. The upgrade has transformed the look and totally suits our needs now.
Total $550 which is reasonable i think.
Glad they stopped selling Würsta Storage…
