Apple's return policy is 14 days, not 60. Plus if you returned the first purchase, the cashback would get reversed anyway.
Do it within 14 days of leaving and obviously return the second purchase..
Or you could just from places with longer return policy like Officeworks

I wasn’t successful but that was only a few days after XS availability. He was willing to match any bricks & mortar store but there wasn’t anything to match.
I did use vouchers @ 10% off though.
