      There's always a catch…

hmm, were you thinking of buying grocery from supermarket using Telstra gift card?

      • +1

$50 towards your phone bill would be nice!

    • Good catch, @jv.

      And worth it

      • And have to be having postpaid plan. With one of the 3 major carriers

        • Yep Telstra business customer here, works good.

        • Looks like Optus will offer 12 months free.
Get Optus Number Share for $0 for the first 12 months when you sign up for the first time before 31/12/2018. After 12 months you will be charged $5 per month if you do not deactivate Optus Number Share.

    • yeah but you don't need to walk like zombie with a phone in your hand incase someone calls, or carry a phone if outside exercising or in a gym exercising ….just wear the watch. Put the phone away at business lunches, or meetings … you can screen calls on the watch incase its the new job offer you are waiting for.

$60 per year, $5 pm is a small price to pay for the convenience and unschackling.

  • Is this available in space grey?

$550 watch and $2,369 phone? what else? This crazy world we live in.

    • +1

You don't need to pair it with the latest and greatest and most expensive iPhone.

    • iPad are still pretty good value.

      • Apple Watch needs a phone. Won’t pair with an iPad.

  • I wanna buy gen 4 for grandma as a ECG and HRM. Any suggestion?

    • +3

Check whether the ECG is available in Australia, I heard it's only in the USA for now.. It needs to be approved by the TGA in Australia before that feature is available I think: https://thenewdaily.com.au/news/2018/09/13/ecg-apple-watch-a…

      • Thanks

        • Yeah he’s correct. Feature is US only for now and even that wasn’t at launch.

Wouldn’t expect Australia to ship this year if it wasn’t announced at the products launch given we’re coming into November. Hopefully next year and hopefully it won’t be a feature that gets dragged out for a long time or the TGA rejects.

HRM and fall detection might still be worthwhile?

    • Will wait for Galaxy watch 2 if your 👵 granny can hold

  • Really keen on Gen 4 but it looks like the stock is very low at the moment and there's next to nothing on ebay that's priced lower than Apple themselves, especially for cellular. Personally I'll be holding out. Great spotting though OP for anybody wanting a 3rd Gen looks like a solid deal.

  • They give me a eftpos gift card instead of Telstra one.
