Intel i3 8100: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-i3-8100-120GB-SSD-8GB-DDR4…
Ryzen R3 2200G: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ryzen-3-2200G-120GB-SSD-8GB-DDR4…

Bargain price for a mid-range gaming PC, should run all games at 1080p 60fps and have the equivalent performance of an xbox one x, or ps4 pro.

Note: I had a friend order the i3 8100 build a few weeks ago, the PSU is a thermaltake 550w, similar to the ones that come built in with the cheaper thermaltake cases. not amazing but will do the job

Thoughts on i3 8100 version: This will have the better performance out of the 2. This cannot be overclocked, but neither can the ryzen one in this deal. This has a higher IPC and will give you slightly more frames/performance over the R3 2200G. HOWEVER this has absolutely no upgrade path. If you want to upgrade your CPU in 2-4 years you will need a new motherboard, cpu and possibly ram. Both versions come with slow ram but that will affect the ryzen cpu more than the intel.

Thoughts on the R3 2200g version: This has slightly lower performance in this build over the i3 8100, maybe 5-10% slower cpu performance. It cannot be overclocked due to the A320 motherboard, however this has much better upgrade-ability. In 2 years or whenever, if you want more CPU horsepower you can throw a newer ryzen chip straight in. AM4 upgrade path is until about 2020 so you are good for a few years.

Picking the cheapest similar parts from PCCG comes to $721 for the i3 build, or $647 for the Ryzen one. Both not including shipping either!

Good deal, honestly even better write up. And if it comes with a TT 550W PSU (even their generic ones), I think that 'resolves' probably one of the bigger issues with buying a pre-built with some unspecified parts.

  • Based off the rep that pops up around here, it'll either be a no brand or thermaltake.

If you're lucky enough to get the tt version you've got an amazing deal. If not, still a god deal. Just a bit worse.

Edit - Good on Tech fast for adding the specific brands used for the ryzen model (haven't looked at the intel one).

As per them, "TechFast 500W Power Supply"

Oh I'm really tempted to grab this. Need a proper pc. Eh, to bad I don't have the cash right now.

With the system though. Case is mediocre, but workable. SSD will likely be cheap but I'd replace that for a bigger one eventually anyway. Big concern is power supply, but don't overclock or go to crazy and it'll last till you get a better one.

Edit - By the way. Apparently parts depend on stock. You could get better parts then what you're expecting, but go in expecting the worst parts they offer.

  • Methinks it's worth the $170 or so for a faster cpu and gpu

  • Looking for a budget of that can play games I don't think I will get any better deal?

I have spare HDD I can add as second but where to get cheap windows key? I think into ly have old 8.1 version and not sure if it has been used already.
