5420

KFC Bucket of popcorn chicken for $10 (80pcs). All stores should have launched this today. If it's not available in store just yet, order through the app.

It's the equivalent of 2 large popcorn chickens. They're normally $7.95 each.

Flatbread sliders are also $2 via the KFC app.

Edit: Appears to some QLD stores, at this stage at least, see discussion.

      • It will mostly lower in all these due to missing pieces during peak hours, try order a large chip in peak hour will get you a small to medium size.

        • +5

          They don't sell chips individually.

        • I love how casual you are about how being in peak time is a valid excuse for them to rip you off.

      • What about the other end?

      • Is that actually true? Comes to 7500 kilojoules when the average recommended all day for an adult is 8600.

        • +3

So we can have 91 then?

        • Wow. I can ration them to last me a week

          • @drumrollplease: would taste awful by Day 2.
Tried buying the 9 for $9.95 Tuesdays and honestly cannot finish them without throwing up

            • @payton: Depends on the store as to what quality you get. Some stores taste better the day after.

Also have you tried using a fridge?

              • @Lukian: yes they were in the fridge, chicken reheated in microwave (not just KFC) have this bad smell / taste afterwards, its just poor.

            • @payton: I'll just share with the housemates, dogs, and cat then. Should be all good

      • 90.5g protein

That's great! High protein levels may lead to weight loss. KFC can help you lose weight. Undefiable logic.

        /s

      • Thanks, very informative. Within my macros :3

I was hoping for a higher protein count tho sigh

Does it apply to the new hot and spicy popcorn chicken too?

    • +1

Looks like no. I had to select a KFC in Sydney to even see it, but it was regular only.

      • Ta. A shame - though I'm probably still going to end up getting it.

      • My KFC lists both, maybe only some stores are doing it

    • +1

Depends on stock. All stores should still have hot and spicy popcorn though

      • Ah, nice. Thanks!

      • Flatbread sliders only on lunch time?

        • My question too! Can't see any restrictions in the app; will try at 5 pm.

          • @Darron65: I can confirm the sliders are available after 5 and they are a perfect 4 bite snack. Yum.

    • +1

Yep. On my app can order the Hot & Spicy bucket for $10

    • +1

My local has both regular and spicy

Will the staff actually count 80 pieces when ordering? Can they do it in front of you to make sure there's not one less?

    • They will most probably fill a large cup twice and dump it.
I’ve seen branches where they’re pedantic and weigh them

      • There's nothing worse when I see them weighing the food that they gonna serve ya. Aaargh!

I'd prefer they grab a handful or two (with gloves on of course) and be done with it.

        • +2

I can appreciate if it slows things down considerably then that is annoying. But there is something to be said for consistency (which can be a rare find in fast food) and making sure things are fair for both sides of the transaction. I would prefer that all places did this actually. Subway in particular have a bit to answer for with their amounts of mozarella cheese, salads and certain meats varying greatly. Recently this benefited me greatly with a hugely dense chicken strips sub but other times I feel like they're really skimping me out on mozarella and certain salads, among other issues they have.

          • @hetzjagd: Not to mention diet compliance. I wouldn't want to be a few pieces over for the day.

Makes me happy! My partner and I bought a bucket to celebrate on the day we bought our house 6 months ago. Good memories. The meal was completed with a $1 freeze (pretty sure it was a lemon flavour, can't remember what though.)

    • +22

My partner and I had 2 minute noodles from Aldi & tap water when we bought our place.

      • At least you didn't eat your watches

      • How much did you pay for it?

My local ALDI gives away boxes for free!

        • Why do they do that? I paid the store price, can't remember now but they come in a 5 pack & cost bugger all.

    • +12

My partner and I have been on 2 minute noodle & tap water SINCE we bought our place

      • -1

        Are you both married?

        • To different people. (They are partners in buying a place, not in forming a family.)

      • You do no there is next to zero nutritional value in that?

        • +2

          know I didn't.

          • know
        • You do no there is next to zero nutritional value in that?

Most people eat food with very little nutritional benefit such as popcorn chicken or breakfast cereal. Just like 2 minute noodles:

          https://www.maggi.com.au/products/maggi-noodles/core

          • @Diji1:

To boost the goodness in your bowl, add lean protein such as cooked chicken, beef or prawns and plenty of vegetables.

In fact, just skip the noodles!

    • 6 months ago? Anniversaries are normally celebrated on a 12 monthly basis, are they not? This just sounds like a very weak excuse for some KFC :p

      • Any excuse will do (probably my poor grammar, as in we bought the house six months ago and on that day we celebrated by eating KFC).

Although having a six month celebration by buying a bucket of popcorn chicken again did cross my mind.

    • Solo*

      • Delicious solo… I thought that was it but when I checked the KFC website I couldn't find it on the menu.

They are stock piling the Chicken Nuggets in the US.

Burger King (USA) is doing 10 Nuggets with 2 sauces for $1, $10 100 Nuggets, delivered free in select area's.

Between that and Taco Bell's Steal a Base, Steal a Taco during the MLB World Championship, can't wait to get back there.

      • sounds yummy but unhealthy

    • Do we import chicken from the US? This global trade shit is so retarded.

      • Fun fact - it is illegal to import fresh eggs, so all eggs are local

Chicken is pretty cheap, a couple $ a bird. Not worth importing and maintaining a cold chain

        • Because our egg controls in Australia are fantastic and salmonella free!

  • -2

Is this healthy? Like chicken nuggets

    • The smaller pieces are generally worse as they have less chicken by weight.

    • +4

mate, it's from kfc. I'm sure it's very healthy for you and you'll live to the age of 37 if you eat this every day.

    • +13

The banner is approximately 4 metres long with tying ropes extending past the ends.

      • How high is it?

        • +1

HKS enquired about the length and so I didn't estimate the height of the promotion banner. 1.5 metres if I have to guess. It is made of durable plastic similar to a heavy duty tarpaulin but I have no idea how thick that was.

        What is this madness!?

    • +3

      4 weeks, 6 days

      • How much longer for the 9 pieces Tuesday 9.95 deal I was lucky I bought one they gave me two but I was so tired and out of it I couldn't even finish one and wasn't able to be a good Samaritan and return one fresh bucket. Bad decisions and events were made and had that day.

        • Had ended this week. You know they pretty much have to throw out any returned food due to OH&S? Should have kept it till later in the week.

          • @Lukian: Wanted to but trying to keep good condition of this "new" bag and it was a long train ride so didn't want to be that guy that stunk up the place on the train full of fried disgusting chicken.

Believe me I regretted it but also kind of felt good because usually I am a huge glutton and neurotic ocd that cleans up my plate and does not waste a cent or bread crumb in this instance.

Ah well next time.. probably next year hoping the year after to be honest.. the chicken still gives me that sick feeling not the same like some other chicken I have tried in some other places and in buns/burgers.

KFC has changed though since I last went in it that is for sure.
