Salter - BFA 12 Memory Silver Body Analyser Bathroom Scale $24.80 Delivered (80% off from RRP $80.00) @ Victoria's Basement eBay

POTPLANT

For all you weight-conscious people, I think this is a decent deal @ $25 delivered.
I've been looking for a bathroom scale for a while now that doesn't give you the weight with a 10% variance.
I think Salter is a reputable brand so im sticking with something decent and not some Xiaomi-equivalent scale that can tell you the weather and maps to your phone to tell you your predicted weight in 2025.
Sometimes I just want something that does a simple job!

Try Burger King's Spooky Slushie for "better results".

Same shop on Amazon au with same price but 6% cash reward.

If you only want something that does a simple job (which I assume is tell you your weight) why not get a $10 scale from Bunnings?

    • These cheap "Body Analyser" scales are a gimmick.
If you want a more accurate and meaningful monitor of change, get a tape measure.

that doesn't give you the weight with a 10% variance.

It probably remembers your last reading.
Try weighing yourself, then pick up about 1kg weight, stand on again and see if it gives the same reading.

I bought a $15 no-brander glass scale from Aldi when they had one of these super saving clearances, the results would vary. The funny thing is that I would stand on it (hard surface) and it will say E/g 75Kg, get off go back on and it would state E/g 73Kg

      • Fair enough, but there is no guarantee that this one won't vary as well.
Plus you are paying for 'body analysis' hocus pocus that you are apparently not necessarily wanting.

        • Not really paying for Body Analysis, @ $16.00, I doubt it else we're suggesting the price would be $5-$10 for it without.

I think they added this body analysis crap to appease those short minded people that think standing on a piece of metal will provide a body fat composition which is akin to the intravenous method of withdrawing and analyzing blood

    Capacity: 150kg / 23st 8lb / 330lb 15 Year Guarantee.

    • Thanks. I'll be needing two then.

  • Best thing I reckon is to weigh yourself around the same time each day and monitor your weight over time to see trends. You can do this manually by just noting it down on your mobile. I rate my withings scale simply because it records the measurements to the cloud via wifi automatically so I don't have to bother. Yes it also displays the weather forecast, but I ignore that as well as the BMI etc info.

    That's a fanciful RRP.

Better off getting this from Amazon if you have prime.

  • Hi OP
Bought this and sorry to say this product is terrible. I just wanted a basic scale and it can't even do that properly.
It is very small and appears at risk of tipping over when someone steps on it.

LED display difficult to read (faded)
The weight reading disappears too quickly and having to set the scale to 'weight reading only' every time is annoying.

The safety issue is not worth it
This is one of the few instances I wish I can revoke and Neg instead

    • payton, I bought it too and agree on all your comments.
It's a terrible scale, extremely small and looks more like a toy than a real scale.
I'm surprised this thing is made by Salter, let's give them negative feedback on ProductReview or eBay

      • hey OP
Sorry about the last part, realised now that was entirely un-necessary and you couldnt have known.
I've lodged a return request on ebay, fingers crossed.

First thought whwn picking up the delivery box was:
Did they sent me an empty box?? Stolen and resealed? It was so light I didnt think the scale was there.

        • lol same here, i'm sending this crap back.
But how do we get around paying for postage?

          • @frostman: if you had signed up for Paypal free returns, you can send your parcel then claim cost back from PP
