OUT OF STOCK for the 256GB model!

    But still thanks OP.

    • I am going to the shop to see if they got the 256gb model available

    • Yeah, OP did already tell us that the 256GB model is OUT OF STOCK in the description.

      • Might be online only.

Would the 256GB version be more per month?

    • +1

I was able to get it from the shop… I did the paperwork and they get one for me by Friday

      • which shop?

        • -1

          Optus shop

        • Perth, CBD, murrst…. but I think all stores should do it…. there is NO online only In the offer

          • @Sevenofnine: thanks! Bargain. I actually signed up on 30 Sep for the 200gb MBB. So for the same monthly cost and additional 12 months contract, I get a free 256gb tablet. I was told it is the last one in WA! Data pool with my phone and have ditched NBN.

            • @Redsin: That’s fantastic… didn’t know you can upgrade like that… great for people signed op for data plan only before

              • @Sevenofnine: Yeah it was treated as a recontract and upgrade as I was only on 12 months contract. So now they locked me into a 24 months.

            • @Redsin: What store? I called one store and they can't check other store stock.

              • @follow: I checked at Murray st and they told me its EOL but Booragoon has one left in WA so I went there the next day to get it. I was surprised that no one jumped on it before I managed to get there.

      • So you got a 256GB for $60?

        • Nope… $50. (With combined existing mobile).. yup absolute bargain ….
the paperwork is for $80, plan but with 25% discount and extra $10 off, so the bill is only $50

          • @Sevenofnine: Very good deal if you can get 256GB for the same price as 64GB.

    • I ordered mine on the 18th of October and still waiting from Optus. Just checked in today and optus has no ETA…chcked with Samsung Aus and they say there is no issues with the 256GB model in terms of a shortage. Maybe optus wants to get rid of all the 64GB models

    • one of the staffs said its EOL ( end of life ) meaning they are not going to stock those 258gb variants again.

  • +1

$1,440 over 24 months - savings of $480 over 24 months or $720 if have another $10 monthly discount

  • Do you know when will this expire?
And is that applicable for numbers currently on Optus's MVNOs like Amaysim?

    • 29/10/2018 as the OP.

    • I wanna know as well, new iPad may be released this month, time to compare.

    • If you are talking about the extra $10 discount you get if you bundled it to an existing account. Of course you won't get the discount if you are with Amaysim or other MVNOs, they are completely different company lol.

      • No, they have the condition of "new and re-contracting only", which means existing Optus customers are not eligible. My question is: if I am porting from Amaysim, am I eligible?

        • Existing customers are eligible if they have an existing mobile plan and they add this tablet service on to the same account. If you port your number to OPTUS, then yes you will be eligible provided you have a 12 month BYO sim plan or a 24 Month Plan with a phone and you add this tablet.

        • or have it as a standalone tablet plan for $60, $50 if bundled

  • +1

This might be pushing it, could I get two Sim cards, one for the tablet and another for my phone with this deal?

    • +1

I asked… will cost another $10 per month to have share am for data.

      • thank you! The $10 cost is offset is you have another optus service!

  • +2
    • One range b/w cheapest and highest is huge !

  • +3

Can anyone recommend any nbn router that i can put this sim in? Thanks in advanced.

    • Using ac800s plugged into usb 3 port of r7000 running xwrt-vortex. Works well

  • The 64Gb and 256Gb are the same price. Can you take up the 256GB and then wait till it comes in again?

    • The 64Gb is 50 dollars a month.

      • +1

        nope, they're same price

        • My bad, didn't realise that was only with 10GB data.

  • +1

Yes both are $60 a month with 200GB of data over 24 months

  • I don't think 256GB will come again.
This is not a first time happening in Optus. Last time was a ipad 12.9.just said no stock to start until the end.
I think they just force people to go for 64GB otherwise they will offer raincheck.
I tried to contact ACCC last time, but nothing they can do.

  • Yes I think Samsung will now push the 64GB model. It is not easy to find the 256Gb model in the shops now.

    • The 256gb was a free upgrade when you pre-ordered last month… so most of the early purchases were 256gb version.

  • +1

    Just wondering

it now says $80 per month not $60… is it an error?

also, it says 25% off + double data … but I don't see the 25% off.. just the double data… can anyone confirm?

    • Same here

    • +1

Change another browser to check.happened to me before

  • Damn! Signed up to this a month ago…

    • -1

I signed up earlier this evening but I cancelled half hour later because they want to charge me Optus sports in the contract. So I might try shops later see if I can get one too…

      • They may do a credit check upon application. Just don't do unnecessary cancellation and try to resolve the issue through their support first.

        • All good, if I don't end up getting one, I am ok with that.

      • +1

Optus Sports is included in the plan though,

    • I can confirm that I just upgrade mine from data sim only to the tab s4 plan via online chatting, make sure they kept the bundle 10 off though as the first person won’t let me keep the bundle discount, good luck.

  • Heh … good news … I just signed up in the shop … for the 256gb… they don’t have in stock but will ordered for me… shop have it by Friday…

    • Which store ?

      • +3

        Optus store!

      • Which store ?

        Centrelink

      • +1

Perth , CBD, Murray st. Just have to ask nicely

        • Wtf i just came from there, the guy said that’s online only. can you pm me who you spoke with? Thanks

          • @gutenmuach: That’s BS… go there when it’s not too busy or another store…. the deal is not Online only…

            • @Sevenofnine: I went again yesterday to the murray st Perth Yes Optus store. they said 256gb is not possible even if they order it in, as their system says no stock & end of life. however checking in https://offer.optus.com.au/stockcheck it still showing 256gb as available…

              • @gutenmuach: They actually take it off they website now !! So most likely “sold out” the offer was too good, just like the iPad Pro last time … so I rushed there yesterday

    • I just checked with their flagship store in Sydney. It is not possible to order anymore as their system says End Of Life, which means Samsung is not making that version anymore.
Anyone has better luck in Sydney?

  • So if I go to an Optus shop they can sign me up to the 256GB LTE Model, I will still receive the JBL Headphones and I get 200GB of data a month and this includes unlimited TV streaming etc.

    • You get free SD streaming, not HD or 4k.

      • +1

But with 200GB I could stream 4k for quite some time. Unlike the iPad the tab S4 will support the 1440p on YouTube.

        • +2

4K streaming with excessive excess charges? I see you like to live dangerously.

  • +2

Can I just put the SIM from this offer in my vividwireless Huawei B315s-607 modem and use the data? This would be 10$ cheaper per month and not limited to 12Mbs.

    • +1

Yes you can (I'm currently a Vividwireless B315s-607). However, your speed may still be limited depending on how good the reception on the 2300Mhz frequency is where you are.

For example, on B315s-607 I can get a maximum speed of 30Mbps on the 2300Mhz frequency. On a different cat4 modem I can easily get 140Mbps when it's connected to the 700Mhz frequency.

    • Anyone know what kind of speeds you would get typically? Eastern Adelaide specifically

      • +1

It depends on the tower you are connected to, if you have line of sight with the tower, the modem you are using and the 4G frequencies you are connected to. The theoretical maximum speed is 1 Gbps.

  • With a line of sight to a tower and being in the CBD of Adelaide running the tab S4 what speeds might be expected? Up to 1Gb?

  • Sonif I take this up and then next week sign up to a 35 per month Optus plan. Will I then be able to get the 10 off per month on the tablet? And can the data be shared across the phone and tablet plan?

    • +17

      That is correct dad

  • Pretty sure it's 200gb of data per month and not 200gb over 24 months.

    • +1

      I read it as 200gb / mth as well - otherwise there is a $50 /10gb/ mth totaling 240gb for 2 yrs

      • so explain how can it be that for $50 10 gigs but for an extra $10 you get an extra 190 gigs a month/???

        • It's normally $5 per GB a month, but if you take the 200GB plan, they obviously will lose $9500 a month in data charges off you.

        • You,
so it is indeed 200Gb per month , not the whole 2 years ?
          Corey C,
You will get 200GB per month for 24 months.

    • A confusing mobile plan, what a surprise!

Description for "JBL Dual NC headset" is this the "JBL Duet NC headset" same as "JBL E65BTNC" ?

      • -3

like my comments, more time/research/effort is needed here on this post. It's a commitment to a 24 month contract, not a 24 hour/day/week contract

        • +3

How did Johann escape the hospital? And how did he survive a bullet to the head?

    • +1

The deal is a bit confusing to me, but it isn't a phone, its a tablet.

    • +2

Look in the Critical Information Summary next time, which is under the select tab. In the CIS, it clearly states its per month inclusions.

  • What are 200GB worth, when their 4G network speed is so miserable.

    • +1

depends where you are mate. I can get 140/20 near my house.

      • I have been in pain with one or two bars for a long time, speed 5 to 18 download. Moved to Telstra, now I am getting up to 100mbps and where I work, I get up to 300mbps. My brother and sister in other suburbs in WA have the same pain with Optus. You must be near one of their good Towers.

  • showing up as $80???
