  • Interesting, but how does the business model work?

I can't see how a shopper can possibly make a living if you only charge the customer $7, but expect the shopper to do both the actual shopping, and then deliver the goods in their own car.

Coles (etc) can break even because they charge more, and bundle multiple deliveries into a single truck, which is equipped with suitable refrigeration to cope with ice-cream, butter etc.

    • OK, so I had a read of the help section to try and get a handle on how it works for the shopper…

According to this they pay the shopper 5% of order value + $8, but also mentions a bonus if only doing one order. However their example doesn't add up to me
"Our average cart size is $95. If you are able to do two $95 orders at the same time, you'll make $21.50." Shouldn't that be $25.50 (or $17.50 if the $8 is per shopping trip)
Here though they say pay is estimated on how long the shop will take..

The shopper pays directly at the self checkout by sending a photo of the total to Unocart who instantly send you the funds via PayID so you can make payment without being out of pocket.

Yet they say they charge the customer the same price as in store, and only $7 delivery. Are their profits in kickbacks from the stores?

      • Can’t see supermarkets having enough margin to pay out much as referral fees.

Overall, it seems like there’s lots of ways in which things can go wrong for the shopper and the customer.

It is suggested that the shopper contact the customer by text if a product or size is out of stock. Great idea. “Dear Dr Smith, is a 1 litre So Good soy milk ok instead of the Coles brand? Please get back to me as soon as you are finished in the operating theatre”.

        • Hello GordebnR & Bamzero

We work a lot with FMCG brands for marketing just like this awesome website does.

Fun fact - the most expensive part of a supermarket is the shavling space for FMCG brands.

          Hope that helps :)
