[NSW] 2018 Toyota Corolla Ascent Hatch Automatic CVT (Glacier White) Runout $19,990 Driveaway @ Lander Toyota Blacktown

2630

Yes i know it is the runout model, but for a brand new automatic japanese built car for under 20k it seemed like a pretty damn good price hence the reason for putting up here for anyone that was in the market. We visited the dealership today and the sales guy mentioned they have only white and silver left in stock so we picked up a white one as im over silver.. my mechanic mentioned this model is pretty much bulletproof so we bit the bullet and made a decision as used ones were similar priced, so see ya later to our old nissan and hello to the good old vanilla toyota :)

we also tried the 4c/l discount that was posted last month and it worked

  • Basic model, steel wheels real cheap looking

    • So less likely to be stolen!

  • We sold our 2015 Corolla hatch last year. Found it to be very small inside. Uncomfortable to drive IMO, I'm a big guy tho.
    This is a great price

  • Value for money

  • Once you have driven the newer model of the Carolla, I'm sure you will think twice!

    • +3

The new model is an improvement over the previous model? Woah. This is $6k cheaper.

      • +1

top to bottom new model this year. Might well be worth the $6k for safety/driving features and new styling.

        • Assuming you don't want to carry passengers in rear seat or much more than a few bags of groceries. Has as much hatch space as cars in the smaller category below it!

  • +1

    Oh, no……

Just bought one last month for 22,450 for sports model.

Feel pretty upset now as it is only 1000 dollars between the two model.

    • That's about what my dad paid for Ascent Sport… 5 years ago when it was the all new model.

He sold it 4 years later for 16.5k.

I don't think you got a good price for it.

      • What color did your dad got please? I have got a blue one.

        • Nothing wrong with the deal you got at all. I doubt you'd be able to get one for $21,000.

There will always be somebody that got a better deal from a certain dealer at a certain point in time. It can very a lot between dealers as to what price they will accept depending on what sales targets they need to make. As it is you got a very good car at a good price. Well done!

    • The worse thing could happen such as wrong time to buy or sell a property.

  • Thanks OP, bought three

    • who for?

      • One for me.

  • Thanks OP.

Looking at buying a used Corolla, and this really shows how the pricing works.

If we were to buy this, how do you go about transferring registration to Victoria?

Looking at Vicroads (I may be misreading it), but we could be up for $1741.50 in fees???

    "Appointment fee $18.50
    Inspection fee $29.50
    Registration fee $295.10
    Transport Accident Charge $474.00
    Insurance Duty $47.40
    Number plates $37.00
    Motor Vehicle Duty $840.00"

    Thanks

      better value for money

if you don't mind demo, would be a lot cheaper.we just purchased a sp25 demo with 1400km for 23000DA inc 5 year manufacturer warranty,3 year free service,so neo sport with advertised price of $23500 has a lot of room to negotiate, should be close to the corolla price if not match it.it's 2 spec down from sp25,and the mazda3 is being replaced soon next year.
way better specced than corolla accent.
      neo sport has mag wheels!
premium paint as standard except 2 colors
proximity key/starter button(only corolla ZR and hybrid has it,not even SX)
      crash avoidance braking(low speed)
      pedestrian avoidance braking
rear parking sensor(as well as rear camera)
more power and torque with lower claimed fuel economy
      no CVT
5 year manufacture warranty from Mazda since August.

      • Thanks, but we've settled on a Corolla.

Any idea on the costs to transfer rego to Vic?

        • no idea.yea, nice car,we almost bought corolla too.maybe ask local dealer to price match

        • +1

Have a look at this thread on Whirlpool, there are a few ideas such as asking the dealer to sell it to you unregistered excluding ORC.

  • Good little Uber runabout.

Anyone considering getting a Corolla, I would highly recommend them. I've seen brand new corollas driven until around 20-30,000kms without being serviced and they ran just fine. We have a lot of corollas at work at our rental car company, among a variety of other cars and I highly rate these aboveother small cars.
The response for acceleration / take off is almost instant with no lag. Fuel economy is great. We never have any warranty issues with corollas. Kias for example we've had a few warranty issues such as fault head units. Also Hyundai accent is really crap quality such as the keys breaking easily.

    • are you suggesting avoid buying used exrental corollas?thank you for the input

      • If the price is right and k's are not too high there's nothing wrong with buying an ex-rental Corolla. But I would check the logbook, I wouldn't buy one that hasn't been serviced for 20-30k.

      • FYI many private dealerships etc. Buy in bulk ex-rental cars so you will never know anyway. Just make sure to have dealership warranty on second hand purchases :)

        • You will know from the logbook.

Also, if the dealer has any shred of credibility they will be honest and tell you the history of vehicle if you ask.

    • Are you sure they don't need to servied?

      • +1

        They need to be serviced.

It often happens with rental cars where they miss the scheduled services. I wouldn't buy one that hasn't been serviced for 20-30k but up to 15k (for 10k scheduled services) would probably be ok. Depends of course if the price is right.

      • I didn't suggest that they don't need to be serviced, I was only stating that I have seen them not serviced for 30ks+ and they still ran completely fine. Same as the RAV4. Take that info as you will, but it's an example to the quality of build. Thanks.

  • I think the old Sport version is around $22500.

    • Yes, got one last month for 22,450.

  • This price isn't available. The best they can do is $20,500. This is still better by $480 then anyone else.

    • It's weird that the price keeps on changing. On different times when I clicked the link yesterday, it showed $21490, $20980, $20490 but never $19990. Right now it's showing $20980 for me.

    • Is that sports version please?
