  • Any chance of getting this without Windows for cheaper? And/or without the screen?

    • Yep If you click in to the package it lets you build / make changes
      Remove windows save $100
      Remove the screen save $112
      So price would be $387.

  • You may want to correct your listing…

    Free Upgrade to 4Gb DDR3 RAM (2 x Kingston 2GB DDR2 800Mhz Desktop Memory)

    Is it DDR3 or DDR2?

    • Thanks For your reply. updated to DDR2.

  • I'm far from an expert, but this looks too good to be true?

    • +3

the components are last generations, so yea it's that cheap :)

You're looking at an oudated AM2+ motherboard, with only DDR2 RAM support.

And the CPU is a first gen Phenom, not a Phenom II.

It's an OK price but there's not much room for upgrades on a AM2+ mobo.

      • Yes it is not quite the latest Spec which is why we can do what is still a super cheap price however the board does support AM3 CPU's http://www.gigabyte.com.au/products/product-page.aspx?pid=35…

If you click into the package we do have some CPU upgrade options.

Didn't know AM2+ stuff was even around anymore. Wouldn't waste my time on it then.

  • Guessing you wanted to advertise your other weekly specials, you could of at least put a direct link to the product. http://www.digitalstar.com.au/detail.aspx?ID=31243

Should mention that it's pickup from Auburn NSW.

    Shipping rates:
    - Sydney: $29
    - NSW country, ACT, Melbourne, Brisbane: $49
    - VIC country, QLD country: $79
    - Other states: $99

    • Cheers for that, I'm in Brisbane so it's a deal-breaker for me.

hmm, $387 without the OS and screen, going by SI cpu $68 + m/b $49 + ram $60 + dvd burner $22 + 1tb hdd $55=$254, so for $133 you must be including a very nice case(maybe Lian li?) and keyboard/mouse?

Are you factoring in the cost of having all of those individual components delivered to your door?

      • getting all shipped at once via PCCG would be like $15 next day via courier.

also, it would be alot cheaper, parts ARE outdated, but would do for an average user, or a kids "study" computer. still too much $$ for what you get imo, even without the screen.

        • Please forgive my ignorance, but what is PCCG?

  • +2

Pretty much the same cost at other stores (shipping excluded from consideration)

Removing the screen makes it poorer value, as the screen costs at least $140, but you only save $112 for removing it

  • ah yeah that thought had occurred to me, tell them you want just the screen for $112 and they'll laugh in your face…
