  • Damn, awesome price these where my first deals that i ever posted, not this cheap though…

I was using them with TPG VOIP for a while and they where way to quite but I think that was my VOIP… haven't seemed to have had any issues now thay plugged into Optus VOIP.

I had to make my own batteries after the first lot died (no one seems to stock 2AAA in the packaging, which is what these are), ended up going to jaycar buying 6 (the ones with the solderable top) and soldering them together with the original battery plugs…
really wish they would just allow you to put rechargeable batteries directly in the phone.
guess the last batteries lasted under 2 years…
also had to send them back once as one of them the ringer was broken.
they sent out another hand set.

I've had problems before with another model of Telstra DECT phone… I won't be buying Telstra ones again…

  • These have been good for me, but the batteries have gone to shit. I got 2 more from eBay and they work fine now.

  • Can pick up for $55 with one less handset from ebay.

I have read some bad reviews about Telstra phones… i actually saw this one on the weekend… but in the end i got the panasonic unit with 3 handsets instead, the 2513 model. RRP is $109 (as per officeworks website) but i got it for $94 at Harvey Norman. We don't need the answering machine and ppl find it annoying to be charged by the telephone companies when they don't even leave messages either.

  • Another option is this Uniden WDSS5335+1 at Dick Smiths for $89. It is 5.8 GHz and spread spectrum but only has the two handsets. $60 off is not too bad!
