True that other people have the WD for around $289-$299, but those HDDs don't have fans inbuilt to my knowledge, so may be more prone to heat issues …

not a bargain at all..
Harris Technology has more superior, known brand (Western Digital) for $299 with 3 years warranty and this is everday price. (even if you're in NSW you can get WD 1TB for $289.. use static ice).
What is this "freecom" brand anyway??
