    This deal is so frequent now. They should have something better now after while already!

  • +3

    Fantastic back up plan if I don't get a trial and keep Dyson! Thanks :)

  • +4

    Don’t forget the 5% off gift card

  • +3

    would pay 70$ more for a v7 instead

    • +2

      They have the V6 animal on sale for $50 more as well. Which would be better? Honestly wish there could just be a sale for a sub 500 V8 Absolute already.

      • +1

        on the same boat as you. Want a v8 or v10 for a better price than the current market price

      • -4

        None they are useless.

        • +1

          I agree. I have had a v8 absolute since they first come out and have been nothing but disappointed with it.

        • +3

          @Molten:

          elaborate

        • +4

          @Molten:

          In another hand I found my v8 absolute since release one of the best purchase of making the vacumming chore so much easier and less tiring.

    • +6

      Should've shared it….

        • +2

          Of course. It always is the last one.

          @easternculture:

          Bragging about reselling isn't a good look.

        • +1

          @j4ck:

          We call that a Broden

        • +1

          @dyl:

          Oh, I'm well aware of Broden :)

        • -5

          @dyl:

          Nothing wrong with reselling.

          It was either me or someone else buying them to resell. I choose myself

          If there was a higher quantity permitting me to post as a deal, different story

          Also for some bargains I find, have to take in account that posting them on ozbargain has the potential to get withdrawn/orders cancelled from merchant. Unfortunately that's the reality

        • @easternculture:

          Do whatever you want, just don't flaunt/brag about the fact that you did it. Looks bad.

        • +2

          @j4ck: Reselling isn't a bad thing. Anyway, the true Broden's aren't posting deals or bragging about finds anyway. They are silent and stealthy and they are buying the entire stock of bargains that never get mentioned. Flips have greater value if no one knows about them.

        • @sparkles:

          I didn't say it was :)

        • +6

          @easternculture: The beauty with Ozbargain is people share with each other to save them for something else not for trading . You got all wrong

        • +1

          @Wakasonu:
          You're definitely right, but I don't think the downvotes are that thoroughly justified, it was below the required quantity to be posted as a deal, no harm no foul.

          I personally also thought that at $299, with the previous deals we've seen in mind, it doesn't feel that great of a price for the base model with no attachments.

        • @easternculture: Well . Do you know what does share mean ? I hope not many thinks like you

        • @Chewiebacca: it is about morality.

        • @Wakasonu: This isn't OzMorals, and I refuse to take down my poster of Broden from my bedroom even if you say otherwise

        • -2

          @Wakasonu:

          Next time I'm short in cash, I'll pm you for a cash advance.

        • +1

          @Wakasonu: he could not share it here due to below min 10 quantity? I had seen some LEGO clearances at my local big w and target stores with only 1 or 2 stocks left couldn't be bothered to post it here as the moment I walked out they could have been gone.

        • +1

          @easternculture: obviously you are still not getting it . Ozbargain is about sharing bargains and experiences not trading. Maybe it is too much for you

        • -3

          @Wakasonu:

          I choose my family over ozbargain. If I can find something to resell, them Ill buy if. Money goes towards my family obligations

    • What is TVSN?

      • +2

        That Very Same Night

      • Television Shopping Network.

        It’s one of the crappy free to air digital channels.

    • Damn you for not posting!

  • +1

    OK, so I probably don't need this, but I'm thinking price match with DJs. Edit: DJs only sell the V7.

  • Is this good enough to clean pet hair (Cat)? Or would you recommend another model?

    • NO, had V6 animal, useless.

      • Thanks. Any recommendations? We need something powerful for all the cat hair we are accumulating :(

        • +2

          Had various Vacs over the year - Aldi through to much $$ brands. Recently purchased the Miele Complete C3 - Cat & Dog. It was on special from Bing Lee. Can't tell you how impressed I am with it. We have always had dogs and this little unit lifts hair that the others would always miss - not to mention the usual dust and dirt. The unit is quiet but it also has a quiet function. Also, the filters that they use mean that there is less dust blowing back into the air and so our family members have not experienced any asthma triggers - did happen with other low cost brands.
          Remember: these are bag systems and so you need to consider that ongoing cost - $24 for 4 bags and filters. However, for the quality of the clean and the asthma friendly filters we are very happy with it. IIRC, we get around 3 full house vacuums before replacing a bag. I am a bit of a cheapskate and so I go out to the wheelie bin and carefully empty the bag out with my fingers and then I can get another 2 full house cleans with it. YMMV.

        • I have the Dyson V6 slim and 2 cats… I think it's fantastic!

        • @R3b3l66: Does the Miele have the stupid brush where all the dog and cat hair spins onto it and you have to stop and remove the hair? I had a Dyson Animal (corded), and the rotating brush would have tons of hair wrapped around it within seconds.. And then stall. Had to be constantly cleaned.

          So I'd only be looking for something where you didn't have to forever be cutting and pulling hairs off a rotating brush.

          Our current Kmart vacuum sucks everything up like a black hole. No rotating brushes in sight. Not sure what their advantage is.

        • @scbrother: Dyson or the cats?

        • I got a Philips Animal something vacuum cleaner from Target for about $150. Very strong, leaves no hair behind, neither dog's nor wife's. It plugs into the wall though, so you're probably not gonna put it on your Instagram like Dyson buyers would.

        • @R3b3l66: Thanks a lot. This is great info.

      • It can get clogged up and then is pretty useless, as the motor starts to 'pulse' because of the blockage, but as long as you clean the filters out every now and then (not difficult) its pretty good. We have two golden retrievers and it fills up with hair pretty quickly.

        Also, my wife is a proper clean freak so if she likes the V6 it should be more than good enough for most people!

    • +5

      I'd recommend a different model — one starting with 'Miele'.

      • Not apples v apples. People buy the hand helds because they are much easier to use, get up and down stairs, are lightweight etc. I have a V6 and a regular Miele vacuum and the V6 gets used far more often.

    • 3 women in our household and my v8 absolute pick their hair up with ease.

      bought Dyson V6 few months ago same deal from bigw.
      useless, waste money.
      Dust is ok, you either hit hard from the top to loose dust around the grill, or remove the bin cover.
      small bin. you may have to empty the bin at quarter full. otherwise, more dust around the grill.
      can't pick up something size similar like small beans/rice unless use shorter attachment.
      if drop beans/rice on the floor, use standard attachment for clean up, you will find those beans flying like bullet to everywhere.
      use 100% power, beans flying quicker than bullet.&&(^&%%#$@!@#$%^&)^%$#$%^&&
      for car or if you don't mind to bend down your back with shorter attachment, works ok.

      looking for alternative portable cleaner.

      • +2

        Really? I have had a V6 for around 6 months now, and I absolutely love it! Never going back to a corded vacuum ever.

        • not only you, half my friends have V6 are all happy with that. the other half were having similar complains.
          after use. it does it job for dust and hair. Carpet clean was ok for dust.
          you don't want pull out big vacuum cleaner with cord for bean size object. so you have to change shorter attachment and bend down your back to clean up.
          we need to understand how it works.

        • @samedream: If there is a bean sized object, can you just pick it up with your hand and continue vacuuming?

        • +1

          @YoJimbo: for one or two, yes. If you pour rice or bean size food in the bowl and some will come out and drop on the floor, are you going to pick them up one by one? If so, Why we need portable vacuum cleaner.

      • if drop beans/rice on the floor, use standard attachment for clean up, you will find those beans flying like bullet to everywhere.

        That doesn't sound like a problem specific to the Dyson, it sounds like a problem for any vacuum with a spinning brush bar.
        For those situations, have you tried just removing the brush bar?

    • We use this to get my my grandma's blue healer's fur out of her rug and it works quite well.

  • +2

    Think i'll wait for a good deal on the V8 absolute. But a still good deal.

  • Well walking past the Big W at fountain gate and saw a staff member walking out with 2 of these tonight

  • +1

    These are excellent. If the motorhead stops working it likely that dust is blocking the contact points near the dust bin.

  • Rather spend $100 more and get the roidmi f8.
