Already stocked 9 jars of mayvers 2 weeks ago

    • +1

yeh I still got a 6 pack chilling
hmm… tempted to try this one however ;)

    • +1

Just 9 jars of mayvers? The risk of surrendering the Ozbargain licence is around the corner.

    • +1

Yep I've got enough Pics and Mayvers to outlast a war.

  • +6

anyone tried this before? How does it compare to Mayvers and Pics?

    • Curious also.

      • Me too

        • Same

        • +1

@Kaiserkid7: Also curious as to how many of us can be consecutively curious

        • @buckster: Equally curious as to how many can be consecutive curious.

        • @braddsey: All this curious seems spurious.

        • @Kaiserkid7: I'm curious about the PB comparison but also find it curious we have no answers…

    • +2

Yeah, you can really notice lack of salt, and (possibly as a result) it's not as tasty. It's also a little bit looser than Mayver's.

      • +1

        Appreciated.

  • Sorry all other peanut butter companies, but Mayvers has my back until late 2019.

To quote Endless Summer, "Ya shoulda been here yesterdaaaaaay."

    • Jeez, mayvers is that good?

      • +1

        yes.

      • +1

        Yes it is

      • -4

Nope - way too oily for me.

        • +1

          Pics too dry for me

        • +3

          @phunkydude:

But Goldilocks Peanut Butter is just right.

    • +2

Mayvers has my back until late 2019.

      Walk in pantry?

      • majority owner

        • No room for much else with all the half price Mayvers peanut butter and tahini.

  • My nuts are pure and still natural and grown in Melbourne.

    • Yum. Please post as separate deal.

      • +1

Currently normal price. Will let you know when it's a bargain

    • Yeah but are they crunchy??

  • Tried Mayvers last week, made a foolish decision to only buy one. The jar is already half empty. Should I give this one a go, or should I wait until Mayvers is back on sale and endure the bits of Kraft Bega that I still have?

    • +1

Buy this or Aldi 100% PB until Mayvers goes on special again. Don't endure through Kraft/Bega.

  • Can't see anywhere whether these are high-oleic peanuts or not. Tempted.

  • The cinnamon & honey flavour is the best peanut butter I've tried. Beats Pics and Mayvers and all the others I've ever tried. Can't comment on any other flavour from this brand but highly recommend cinnamon & honey.

    • +1

That flavour is absolute shit, about to throw away the jar. Thought it would replicate the Kraft Cinnamon Peanut Butter flavour but it doesn't.

      • +4

And here, ladies and gentlemen, are internet reviews at their finest. Arguments for amd against, skilfully pitched.

      • Please consider recycling the jar instead.

        • +1

That's how stuff gets to the recycling plant, by being thrown away.

  • Can't seem to find this in my local catalogue (NSW Metro). Is this deal nationwide?

    • Couldn't see it in the VIC catalog. Will check instore later today.

  • Fake nuts?

  • +1

I'm gonna make my own peanut butter called: Nuttin' but nutz

    • Probably will sell better than my "Nut Butter"

      • That's almost as good as Butt Nutter.

  • +2

JUST FYI .. Mayer is not 100% Aus Peanuts.. Last time I checked 20% to 30% ingredients only are Aus Made. Where PICs is 100% Aus Peanuts.

    • Probably explains why it's so much cheaper. $2.50 v $3.75 when half price.

  • +2

Great price. Jumped on these when I worked out from the nutritional that it has the lowest carbs of all the brands at Coles… but not every Coles stocks them (Can't find them at colesonline) & not every Coles that has them, has both crunchy and smooth :-|

That said, found that Aldi's Oh So Natural PB is $2.99 for the same size and 9g of carbs / 100g of PB (even lower than this)… buuuuut although it is made locally from imported nuts and not as tasty as this one.

    • +1

Aldi is a good cheap stop gap between half price sales.

    • +2

If they don't say I assume Chinese nuts.
