Can you provide your usual evening speeds? I looked around on your site but couldn't find them.

    • Hi incipient!

Download and upload speed for each NBN plans are the maximum for each type of service but can rarely be achieved due to various reasons - type of download content; connection method (WiFi or fixed); end users' OS, hardware & software; number of end users using the service at the same time; supplier's network congestion and so on! Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee an actual speed that can be achieved as we are dependent on our supplier to deliver the services but we will do our best to obtain the ideal speed for our customers at all times.

Please call us on 1300 254 255 to find out more about your connection type and we will provide suggestions as to which speed plan is most suitable for you.

      Regards,
      Click Team

      • This is a comment on a random forum, not a legally binding contract!

Can you just provide a guide? Say for nbn50 we expect 20/30/40mbit at night?

A reply like yours makes it look like you have something to hide and turns people off your brand.

        • It certainly does. I thought i was getting decent speeds on Telecube at 85/40 then it dropped to mid 60's, NBN said "its within tolerance" changed to ABB and I get 95/40 not just in Oz but to London.

          Oils aint oils.

    • MyRepublic has a table comparing speeds of lotsa Aussie RSPs (new name for ISPs)

Of course, MyRepublic is Fastest in their list…

Are you on their list? If not, why not make your own list.

WHY WOULD ANY1 Brimg Friends for Reward$, ie, if they don't get good speed, eg,
due to under-purchasing of bandwidth, on the part of an RAP.

Give us your Purchased-Bandwidth / User ratio (or similar) OR
      Show how,you compare w/ [Singapore-owned] MyRepublic OR
      I can't consider you.

Hopping from RSP to RSP can take longer than expected.

And… Can I lose my Excellent line (as one could in the ADSL-era) by switching?

      I enjoyed ove a year of $60 / month for 100 Mb/Sec unlimited data, on a 12 mom contract…
      I wish I'd signed-up for 24 months!

A contract holds a Low price longer.

No contract is No Bargain. If prices are likely to rise, as they just did.

  • +1

It was unsustainable pricing like this that led to Telecube's insolvency.

  • +2

P.S. Please mention if you are a Telecube customer :)

what benefit is there to mentioning you are/were a telecube customer?

    • +7

So they can up the price just after you sign up ;-) they figure you'll expext it

    • Hi!

We have just made a small update to our offer. We are giving all OzBargain users a further $10 off the 1st month.
Making it $22 off the 1st month, $12 off the following 5 months then regular pricing thereafter.

Please contact us on 1300 254 255 for more information if you are interested!

      • You're encouraging short-term thinking

Total Cost of Ownership / Contract makes more sense to me.

How much did I save, ie, paying $60 / month for unlimited 100 Mb / Sec from MyRepublic?

$1 for modem, Zero setup fees.

Even Now - post price-rise - I get more (albeit w/ no choice): unlimited VoIP calls in AU for my extra $10 / month (I opted NBN50, to cut monthly cost… But.. I can change speeds Once per Month, fee-free:

If I need a month of 100 Mb/Sec, I just pay that speed's monthly fee, no "speed-change fee" & I'm not forced to stay at higher speed. I can switch back to NBN50 next month, same way, fee-free..

Oh, and they don't even offer a Digital Dividing NBN25 or - is it still a thing? - NBN12.

When they landed in Oz, MyRepublic ONLY offered 100 Mb/Sec (for just $60 / month).
…or as fast as your distance from Node, etc. enabled you to get. Compete with that!

Which of those features can you match…?

        If not now, when? ;-)

*Promotional pricing runs for first 6 months of service and will revert back to the full price in month 7 of your plan. Full price monthly fee as follows: NBN12 $58.88/mth, NBN50 $68.88/mth, NBN100 $88.88/mth. $0 set-up fee only applies to Standard NBN set up. New developments fee of installation charges may apply to certain premises connecting to nbnTM services for the first time. Offer ends 30 September 2018 and is available for new customers only who haven’t signed up with Click on any other promotional offers.

Maybe all associates and store reps need to put the asterisked items in the OP as well.

    • Why do you even offer NBN12… Is NBN25 off your menu?

What if some1 only Needs a Small amount of data each month, but wants it at Higher speed (NBN50 or NBN100)?

Isn't there a light weight plan [for Grandparent(s)]…? Create a Seniors' plan, like JeeNee does for mobile data.

      300 GB / month

Do you buy direct from NBN Co.? Or from / with another RSP?

We are locally based and offer 7 days customer support.

    That's rather brief.

    • Hi!

Please mention if you are a Telecube customer :)

might be a bit late for those people…likely already put in requests elsewhere since being disconnected over the weekend

Was looking into nbn plans today and can’t recommend these guys pricing. The promo price is fine but the standard price is way over market rates. It is also well hidden on their website. Lure you in with the deal and then smack you with a overpriced rate. This is not the sort of company we should be accepting here.

    • Could you share the link to this page please?

    • the standard price is way over market rates

Examples? The only one I can think of is Exetel's 50/20 for $60

      • We're in the Outback. Exeter wanted ~20 More / month for NBN50 for is "Regional" buyers.

MyRepublic NEVER has such a Penalty fee. (Eg, in our 1st year with them, we paid $60 for 100 Mb/Sec Unlimited data).

    • How so overpriced? There is no contract. Their discounted NBN50 & NBN100 prices for the first 6 months are lower than others. You can leave without any penalty before month 7.

    • Many ISP's have a 6-month reduced pricing. I believe it is because NBN is going to raise prices. As such, this is normal. Tangerine does it, ABB, Mate, etc.
Yes, Exetel has $60/month, but who is to say that they will not increase their prices? Besides, check Exetel's reviews. I've been with them, and it was congestion galore.

      • That's is why it's always good to do no lock in contracts. So you can cancel anytime.

        • What? If prices are due to go Up, you want as long a contract as possible, ie,mid you have a Low price when you next buy

  • +1

So what are your expected peak speeds?

    • Hi There!

Download and upload speed for each NBN plans are the maximum for each type of service but can rarely be achieved due to various reasons - type of download content; connection method (WiFi or fixed); end users' OS, hardware & software; number of end users using the service at the same time; supplier's network congestion and so on! • I suggest you mislead… by Omitting:

"Speed depends (also) on how much bandwidth (by another name) we choose to buy for a number of customers, eg, sharing a particular Node, or otherwise grouped."

Yes, distance from Node, or whether it's fiver to the home make a difference.

But your decisions do too. This is likely why MyRepublic's speed comparison (for a number of providers) can show them on top. Maybe they buy enough bandwidth to keep it so

        This suggests Ethical Company practice.

  • should stop selling 12/1 speed, my old adsl is quicker than 12m

    • +2

Funny enough my 3Mbit wasnt that great, so i would happily take the 12/1 speed. Albeit i can't actually achieve anywhere near the even posted 50Mbit speed…I voted Labor….
I must say im glad its still an optional pricing point for some.

    • What else should companies stop selling because it doesn't directly benefit you?

      • 300 GB / month quota for those Not needing Unlimited.

Or… Better: Encouraging Neighbours to Share a connection, eg,
so Both can enjoy 100 Mb/Sec speed, by sharing the cost (BT did this)

(Say what you like about Brit's, but they can be cleverly efficient sometimes!)

  • I was going to switch to Aussie broadband but might give these guys a go for a month to test speeds.

    • Hi!

We have just made a small update to our offer. We are giving all OzBargain users a further $10 off the 1st month.

  • Pricing looks real good! Can't find too many reviews online about these guys tho so bit worried, surely can't be that bad?

Not a big internet user but do need reliable enough connection for work

    Worth a punt?

    • +1

Not without a background check. I once used Spintel NBN, FTTP, and could only get speeds of 2Mbps. Had to go to TIO to get out of it.

    • +1

There is always trade off between price and performance. If you are prepared for this then it is worth a punt.

I thought all NBN plans were required to display their typical evening speeds, there's no trace of anything on the site (that I can see anyway)
